Microsoft finally listened to the death threats and announced that they are reversing their media sharing policies. So now you CAN play used games offline and you CAN let friends borrow your games (hooray!)

The problem is that they did it in the first place. It shows that they have literally no concern for their buyers, also know as the people who pay them lots of money and basically support them, and will likely try to **** us in different ways in the future. They thought they could get away with it and when people first got angry their response was to tell us to deal with it, that we should be thankful that they're shoving **** down our throats and that they couldn't understand why we would be so upset at them.

They lost their chance.

But yeno there was that time that sony lost a bunch of credit card numbers and personal information.... Which is alot more of a butt ******* than what microsoft ever planned on doing

But yeno, LITERALLY Noone actually lost their **** . Look **** up, stop posting fanboy garbage. All Anonymous did was DDoS Sony's WEBSITE not even PlayStation Network itself, but the website's server. Besides you do realize by Sony losing credit numbers... all that happened was oh no, Sony doesn't have your Credit card number. YOU still have it, Sony doesn't. Look it up, noone lost any money, Sony was Preemptive. XBOX All the way still though.

You're right about everything, but it wasn't Anonymous. I'm sure a group of Anonymous uses playstation network, so they wouldn't hurt themselves.

So companies make mistakes. It happens. They fixed it.
#32 to #22 - tiredofannon (06/20/2013) [-]
Except it wasn't a mistake. Microsoft calculates everything they do before they do it and they honestly thought they could get away with it. You can tell this from their responses. If it was a mistake they wouldn't have been telling customers to deal with it or to stick with the 360, they would have been saying stuff like "we're reviewing our policy" or "we'll take the feedback into consideration as we move forward." And I'm not a Sony fanboy (I know it wasn't you who accused me of it). I'm fully aware that Sony was likely eyeing the exact same move before it blew up in Microsoft's face.

Also I'm sorry people were thumbing you down. I just wanted a conversation/discussion about it, not a flame war. I thumbed you up as much as I could to make up for it.

They'll do it again. Probably once I've already bought the console.

Or maybe it was a marketing technique. Either way, my opinion is the same that I'm not butthurt about the console screwing us over, I can't afford it anyway. They'll continue to support the xbox 360 and I will stick with it.

The only problem is that the pros vastly outweighed the cons and now because people whined about something they didn't understand we get a ****** old media system.
User avatar #17 to #15 - iliekchocolatmilke ONLINE (06/20/2013) [-]
They didnt say they will be going back to an old media system. They simply removed the need to be always online and the limitations on selling, trading or lending of discs. The only downside to this is if you buy a disc game (not a digital version) you need to keep the disc in the tray to work. That's an awesome trade-off and will draw back a LOT of customers.

My only problem with this is that they only switched it because of all the hate, and without that they would have just let it be

I like that they pulled their head out of their ass, but I won't be getting it until they pull the mandatory kinect off of it. Kinect for everyone means kinect games and well......you are the controller, and I'm not.

Personally, i don't mind Kinect that much but I can see where you are coming from it can be quite annoying to HAVE to use your body. I don't think I will be buying a game that uses the Kinect too much though *cough DBZ Kinect
User avatar #10 to #9 - flemsdfer (06/20/2013) [-]
My foresight just says that with kinect now being on EVERY system. games are going to use more kinect
#13 to #10 - anonymous (06/20/2013) [-]
It's going to be like motion controls on the Wii. Everyone will feel like they need to include it, but nobody will take the time to do it well.
#14 to #13 - flemsdfer (06/20/2013) [-]
I still feel like games will include it somewhat. I'll be stuck in some button pressing cutscene struggle and to finish him off I'll have to kick with my left leg and I'm gonna sit there like

Hopefully, if every game DOES include kinect, it'll be like Skyrim. Voice commands for easy use of something you could do with the controller.
