Arc Reactor.

A while ago I posted an image of an (admittedly sub-par) Arc reactor Mk. V I had been working on... I scrapped that project and began working on a Mk. II Arc reactor instead. It's still in the pre-assembly stage, but I was able to put the pieces together a bit for the picture. I just wanted to know what you guys think so far.

Does it actually do anything, or is it just for show?

It's just for show, Although this is just the first project of many, I'm also working (Slowly) on a full scale wearable Iron Man MK. IV Suit and an Alphonse Elric Suit, although Alphonse is going to take a long time, I've just finished the first part of the Chest piece, but it's made entirely of metal.

Actually, I'm building a tutorial on how to make them at home, this is just the prototype. I'll post a step by step when I've actually completed the reactor and compiled all the images.

It only cost me about $30 in materials (Not including the tools I used, but I already had those.)

so basically its a hunk of metal with some led's and paint?

Sorry about the crappy quality of the image, the LED's aren't actually mounted into the out ring of yet, so they are brighter than they will actually be. It's actually made using EVA Foam, sheet metal, LED's, Speaker Wire, and a faucet aerator.
