That movie was awful. In my theater, when the words "Tony Stark Will Return" some guy in the back yelled "He better return because that movie was ******* garbage" and the whole theater applauded him. For me I thought the movie was funny, and the Barrel of Monkeys scene was epic, but the rest of the movie was terrible, shallow and just poorly written/executed. Why they got rid of Jon Favreau and brought on a guy who's directed 1 other movie to make the most anticipated film of 2013 next to MoS, the follow up to the biggest superhero film of all time, I'll never know.

I thought it was decent. For some reason though people said they disliked the second Iron Man, when imo was probably the best one. I just didn't feel like I enjoyed watching the 3rd one in theaters.

Well at least some more good superhero movies will be coming out in the next couple of years.

If you haven't already, I'd check out the Man of Steel.

Iron Man is one of the biggest pussy superheroes, Tony Stark is a colossal douche, He's constantly causing **** to himself because he's an alcoholic with no trace of self control. Out of his suit, besides being a tech genius, he's almost useless in combat. And the fact that he's constantly in a state of dying is as annoying as Spider-man constantly running out of web fluid for his shooters. Bring on the rag,e Marvel fanboys.

But does Bruce know how to make any of the stuff on his own? Stark could probably build all three of those gadgets with things found in the average person's garage. Even on his worst day (when he escaped from the cave in the first movie), Tony was completely immune to bullets, even at point-blank range. So far, even Bruce's best suit (that he bought) remains vulnerable to gunfire.

I don't know whose side you're on, but you're only helping Tony's rep. Bruce avoids gunfire because it's instinctual and he knows he's still vulnerable. Tony knows his armor renders him practically invincible and is able to abandon his fear by placing his trust in the hunk of gold-titanium alloy he designed and built himself. Tony took a direct hit from a tank, but he simply shook it off and destroyed the tank.

I'm completely against you. We'll ignore the fact that half of Tony Stark's actions are physically impossible even with his suit (surviving a direct hit with a tank shell, falling from hundreds of feet, extreme changes in velocity and acceleration). It takes a hell of a lot more ability to navigate unseen around enemies and stealthily taking them down (without killing them) than it does to just say "Haha, your bullets can't hurt me," and kill the guy with a punch to the gut.

Physically Impossible:
That's just how awesome Tony is; He's capable of doing things most people consider to be impossible.

Stealth: It's easy to remain unseen if you stick to the shadows, only work at night, and wear all black. He prefers stealth whenever possible because he wants to minimize his chance of getting shot. As for non-lethal takeouts, Bruce is merely bound my due process of law and is unwilling to perform an execution before the bad guy's trial.
-Tony, on the other hand doesn't need stealth because of how much punishment he can take before breaking a sweat. Tony kills his opponents because he deals with terrorists, whom are legal to kill on sight.

I anticipate you might pull Superman into the argument, claiming that my throwing the laws of physics to the wind would make him the best. My rebuttal against Superman is that all of his powers come from the fact that he's technically not human. Superman was born with his powers and never had to build, work for, or even buy them. He got his abilities from genetics. He simply got lucky. Tony, on the other hand, earned his abilities by using his mind to first design weapons for the military in order to get funding, then using his mind further to design a suit that allows him to fight terrorists all over the world.

a normal person can't come to a dead stop after falling hundreds of feet and still be alive even in a suit; you still came to a dead stop, suit or no suit. No one could go from being stationary to mach2 in a matter of seconds. Anyone would die. Stark is helpless without his suit and no one could make a damn suit like that from scratch with items found in a regular house.

First of all, Batman refuses to kill because of an ethical code to "Protect the innocent, apprehend the guilty - but never kill for any reason." Even if the criminal was tried, Batman would be against the death penalty. Batman's refusal to kill is based on moral principle, not legal.

As for stealth, it's actually pretty hard to move silently and unseen among multiple enemies even with the cover of darkness. Batman is trained in Ninjutsu and can infiltrate almost any high security facility with ease.

I've also seen you compare Tony Stark's intellect to that of Bruce Wayne. I can honestly say that Tony Stark looks like a highschool dropout compared to Wayne. Wayne's IQ is described at (if not over) 200. He has 9 college degrees. He has a proficient understanding of Biology, Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Mythology, Geography, and History. All of these degrees were also collected before the age of 25.

Now let's compare Wayne and Stark without all the suits and gadgets. Stark's abilities?.... I'm not getting any off hand.
Bruce Wayne, on the other hand, is described as the pinnacle of human health. He performs at peak physical condition. He's in better shape than any Olympic athlete you can name. He's mastered 127 different styles of martial arts and is an expert on virtually every melee weapon known to man (although he prefers unarmed combat). Due to his peak physical condition, Bruce is often compared to many superhumans. He once punched a hole through a brick wall and knocked out a SWAT officer on the other side, and this was done without the use of machinery to enhance his strength (granted he probably had some tough gloves on).

So we're focusing on just the guy himself? Tony still wins.

Health: Aside from temporary a case of palladium poisoning whose symptoms he was able to nullify with a protein shake (Iron Man 2), Tony's health is just as good as Bruce's, not to mention that Tony is still alive (Bruce killed himself at the end of Dark Knight Rises).

Languages: We actually here Tony fluently speak French in Iron Man 2 (right before he talks to the Russian guy after the incident at the race track), but we never here Bruce speak anything other than English.

Advanced Sciences: So Bruce figured out how to apply someone else's idea to all of Gothom's cell phones (Dark Knight) for a single event, big deal. Plus, we never see him actually set it up, so one cannot help but wonder if he actually hired someone else to do it for him.
>Tony is all about advanced sciences.
-Tony built both an engine and a computer when he was a child, and he maintained his father's company by designing countless weapons, intelli-crops, etc. (see the award ceremony in the first Iron Man)
-In a few weeks, he mastered a technology that still baffles the rest of the planet.
-He became an expert in thermonuclear physics in a single night (Avengers).

Detective Skills: When? The closest thing to a detective Bruce has ever been is an interrogator, and he achieved that by slamming The Joker's head into a table and proceeding to scream "WHERE IS SHE?"
-Tony, on the other hand, discovered a new element in a model his father made several years prior. You might argue that he had hologram technology to help him, but he only used that to remove the shrubbery and whatnot to help him focus on the centerpiece.

I'd like to jump the gun and anticipate one argument you make make: "Bruce sacrificed himself at the end of his trilogy to save Gothom." He knew he could set the helicopter to autopilot, but he chose to kill himself. Tony ended his story by killing the bad guy, healing his girl, and destroying his suit/distraction.

Movies vs. Comics: Irrelevant. The comics might cover a few minor details, but the movies are plenty when it comes to the major details. If you have to refer to minor details in order to prove a hero's superiority, he was never superior in the first place.

Expert in Ballistics: So is Tony Stark... and if he isn't, it would take him long to become one.

Who Cares?: You're implying that I give many ***** about this subject, but the same can be said for you. My original comment did not say Tony Stark is better than either Clark Kent or [Wonder Woman], I simply stated what Tony would do if he lost his "powers" (his suit). You, on the other hand, replied specifically to my comment and asserted that I was wrong and that Bruce Wayne is the superior hero if stripped of his "powers". You even admitted to be a fanboy just now. To your question of "who cares", I say you obviously do.

Not true: This has been done several times throughout the comics. Superman learned several martial arts, some from batman, some from his own planet. He's lost his powers and still turned out to be a badass; in fact, even more so because of it. He thinks critically, and usually finds another way to get things done, and usually gets his powers returned.

Wonder woman is well trained and what not. But her martial arts is based against weapons. And her powers mostly come from her suit, bracelets, stuff like that. Yes, she'd be great. Against her own enemies. But it'd be wrong to compare the two.

I think there was some time in the comics where Wonder Woman did lose her powers for several months or years (in real life time) because the writers wanted to try something new. So they had that island of women dissapear into another dimension along with her powers. Wonder Woman got an afro or something and went out shooting evildooers. Eventually, after many complaints, they brought the island and her powers back and pretended that it never happened.

Kal El, on the other hand, has a genius level intellect, is a natural fighter, and has utterly mastered at least eight different forms of Kryptonian martial arts, of which there is no parallel on Earth, and the lies of which Diana would have never seen before.

Diana with a gladius and metal buckler versus an unarmed Superman, with both of them depowered, would actually be a really, really entertaining fight. It would be close. So close I'm not sure who I could call it in favor of. It's basically a Shaolin Master Monk versus a veteran Spartan warrior. It would be entertaining as hell no matter who took it. It's close enough that it might even be a tie.

Yay the comic book nerd came and explained it all out for me/us. I mean this as a compliment actually. I knew it wasn't that lopsided but I had no knowledge to argue otherwise. Thank you for informing me. A thumb to you good sir.

Well it's a great comparison you made, but in such fight, I'd bet my money on a Spartan warrior.

I think Superman would start off losing, because he is so used to his crippling strength that it is routine for him to hold back so he doesn't crush someone by picking them up. It'd be interesting to see where the fight would go after he got over the whole psychological fear of using all his strength he's had his whole life.

By "veteran Spartan" you could mean two things though. The ancient Grecian warriors of sparta, picking out of them their best, fully trained, or Master Chief's augmented 'kin' from Halo. Too bad both miss the point in comparison to a Master Shaolin Monk. They can catch spears with their bare hands in the case of past Spartan, possibly even a sword thrust/swing (and then have to deal with a master hand-to-hand defense minus shield) and would get their asses easily handed to any Mjolnir-descendant-veteran. Mind you, I mean Master Chief's legacy from Halo (or Chief Himself, especially himself post-FOR).
