It's more of paying into a communal fund.
Think of it like a party, you chip in $15 like everyone else, but only eat $7 worth of food.
Because inevitably there will be a situation where you are in an accident, or someone you care about is in an accident, or you need a flu shot, and suddenly that money you've been chipping in help's out A LOT.

Actually, it isn't that retarded a statement for America. There is actually a considerably larger number of people than there should be living off of welfare checks, unemployment checks, food stamps, etc. Those people are happy to live that way, since it means they don't have to work hard for their money. It doesn't help that often times welfare will pay them more money than they would get from a starter position at any job, so they don't see the switch as worth it.

No, its not having empathy that makes you a sociopath. That's pretty much the definition. Also most of the people on disablity are in wheelchairs or have some sort of disorder that severely limits their movement to the point where they can't work. losing a hand is ******. But the advancements in prosthetics means that he could have a semi-useable hand to work with. Until there is a cure for things like spina bifida they literally cant work. And if they don't have family/care givers they are ****** without disability pay.

The US Government's definition of disabled IS extremely broad.

As per the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1973, a disabled person is defined as someone with a mental or physical impairment that substantially limits one or more "major life activities."

Given the ambiguity of this statement, abuse of disability is not very difficult. And it's really a shame because those people are ******** on the other people who actually DO need some help. It's not hard to understand why many people would be reluctant to pay into a system that is so broken.

So the waitresses from bars from the 60's that never smoked a day in their life that now have lung cancer have only themselves to blame. Have you even inquired why it hurts them to stand? you never said you have empathy/sympathy BUT YOU SHOULD. But what about the all the people who are on disability because of something that wasn't their fault. What about the people who have genetic disorders, inured from work (and there was no workers comp), got hit by a drunk driver and lived, and so many more situations that are out of a single persons control.

you say you aren't a sociopath but id like you to reread the last part of your last post. That is sociopathy in a nutshell pretty much.

it really isnt

if you worked at a bar in the sixties your about 70 now. and you fail to notice how i said i dont count people on disability as bad, for the most part. my grandma sits on her ass all day watching tv. she is fully functioning and can do everything anyone else can do. except for the fact she has sat in atrophy for many years so her body is breaking down for not being maintained. and its not standing that hurts them its standing for hours on end they claim. my girlfriends mom is constantly moving and spends a lot of time on the computer. you know who else spends a lot of time on the computer? people with jobs typing **** up/ but thats too hard for her right?

unless you are a quadriplegic you have no excuse for sitting on disability. stephen hawkings can use one hand and je still does more work than the people on welfare. whats theyre excuse

Superiority is a concept that has no real basis in social concepts. Despite his views on the world, sketchE is still a human being. ExorArgus, in turn cannot be superior because, despite his views on the world. he is still a human being.

Sure, ExorArgus's views are more parallel to what society calls a "good" outlook, but barring genetic differences, ExorArgus is no different from sketchE and vice-versa.

It's much like the way Hitler is described as a monster. A foolish title, Hitler was a human. This dehumanizing of a dictator is how signs of one are ignored.

In what way? Sure Hitler killed millions of people, and that was an incredibly terrible genocide. But how many men can be credited with saving an entire country? How many men can be credited with turning one of the most impoverished economies into one rivaling that of the U.S at its strongest?

Hitler was a terrible, terrible man. But he was also an amazing individual with the power and charisma to change a country on the verge of collapse (which would have had France, Great Britain, or Russia been any state to invade) into a near super-power capable of nearly defeating an Alliance of Great Britain, Russia, and France, who have been and were considered some of the strongest countries in the world. If Hitler hadn't attacked Russia, and Yamamoto hadn't failed in his invasion of Pearl Harbor, it stands to good reason that the Cold War would be between the United States and Germany, not Russia.

Stop. If you are going to give money to bums like that do it through established charities. It is far to common that people with jobs and plenty of money will actually sit on a corner dressed in a homeless manner to get change from people on the street. There was a study done once where a guy asked around 20 people holding will work for food signs to come by and he will give them a job. Only one person showed up. Seriously though, there are several programs that exist to help the homeless and whatnot. Help those programs. If you ever pass by a homeless person looking for money and he looks well fed, definitely don't give him the change.

If he has paid for insurance HIMSELF, like he should have been, then it won't matter. Legally they would be unable to deny him the money that has been guaranteed him for whatever is covered by it if he paid their premium.
