Half of that post isn't true and was written the day One was revealed.

You don't have to pay a fee to lend games to a friend, I have no ******* idea how they got that. The source for that was ******** "potential scenarios" and they even said in an update they weren't fully sure they were doing that, and wasn't updated past.

The source for the Separate Device for live tv was taken down, and it was wrong

I'm not going to check about the "Always spying on you" thing because it is common knowledge know that it IS wrong. The only thing Always On about Kinect is the microphone, and it isn't recording anything but listening for "Xbox On." Heck, in some countries it won't even do that because it is illegal. Plus the thing about more people entering the room was speculation.
User avatar #106 to #104 - Lintutu (06/16/2013) [-]
oh. well do you have a more accurate version?

Off the top of my head, no, but take this.
#60 to #4 - lolibear (06/16/2013) [-]
No it's more like this. what if to go to a college you HAD to own a car. because almost everybody owns cars, right? nobody uses buses or bikes anymore. That's what that argument sounds like. just because you are in a good financial state does not mean everybody is.
User avatar #68 to #60 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
yet everyone has internet anyways. there are a few things that adults basicly have to have. those include phone car and internet.
#233 to #68 - lolibear (06/17/2013) [-]
If you really think that, you've obviously never been outside of your tiny protected little bubble of a neighborhood. I know PLENTY of people who don't have internet, that play games on their xbox 360 or some other game system.
User avatar #241 to #233 - sketchE ONLINE (06/17/2013) [-]
80 percent of US housholds have internet. to get a job most places require you to submit an application or resume using the internet. we are in the digital era where you need internet to do things like submit job applications check work email at home check your paystub and w2. if you are of those 20 percent who dont and likely have a houshold making less than 20,000 a year you dont need to be buying a game console in the first place.
#249 to #241 - lolibear (06/17/2013) [-]
80% of households "can access" the internet. only 60% of american households have steady internet access in their own home. only one third of households worldwide have access to internet. That's a pretty big chunk of the world to assume are all too poor to buy a 300 dollar entertainment machine.
User avatar #260 to #249 - sketchE ONLINE (06/17/2013) [-]
400 and 500. you dont need constant internet you need to connect for five mintes once per day. i could do that daily with no wireless in my house
www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/31/internet-access-american-households_n_2049123.html

also while saying two thirds of households with out internet you have to realise that that same two thirds will never own an xbox one.

and its not just the console. its the games the tv the electricity and everything else if you are too poor to afford internet which is nearly a requirement in todays day and age you have no reason to be buying an xbox
User avatar #50 to #4 - dogwars (06/16/2013) [-]
Some people don't have internet, or just really ****** internet. My aunt games single player on and multiplayer on LANs with her 360 but she doesn't get a high enough bandwidth to support going online with it where she lives ( ********** nowhere) without driving her bills through the roof. The Xbox One is the bane of her existence.

You don't understand, Comcast is doing them a favor by giving them anything. They (my aunt and family) live far away from anything other than trees and a road.

did they perhaps try a different company? i live in alaska so i know about being in the middle of no where. we have about four companies who make it their priority to get service to outlying areas
User avatar #435 to #75 - lyiat (06/18/2013) [-]
Internet companies have monopolies in major portions of the United States. Where I live, you either have Comcast or you have nothing, with no options to swap. In a lot of places in the Carolinas, you either get Time Warner or nothing. They own all the lines in the area. That is why his aunt and uncle only get to use Comcast.

Comcast was the only one with the means to do it, I think. I can't remember the story, I was just using my aunt as an example.
User avatar #79 to #77 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
there is no way comcast was the only company with the means to but whatever, the point is they do have internet. they dont have to use it for online gaming and a checkin isnt transferring tons of data. if your really worried about it do the check then disconnect. connecting and disconnecting from the internet are in the same screen

Soldiers deployed overseas will get game systems to keep spirits up between deployments. They can't with the Xbox One due to it being completely region locked, and having internet requirements.

the fact that half of their facts are wrong kind of discredits them. and it also says that microsoft is trying to expand the amount of countries. its clearly a site that has already formed an opinion by its last statement so it cant really be considered an unbiased source

Because Microsoft servers (or any online servers for consoles for that matter) aren't exactly reliable.
User avatar #10 to #4 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
Most people aren't worried about their internet. They're worried about Microsoft's servers.

Servers go down for maintenance.

Servers go down if too many people try playing at once and strain the system.

Servers get taken down by hackers.

Servers get switched off permanently when the company running them doesn't see any profit from them any more.

And I mean, why do I have to go online to play singleplayer? It makes no sense.

The console should be like a smartphone or something. Infinitely better when online, but still serviceable when it's not. Forcing it to be online just alienates people.
User avatar #71 to #10 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
except non of this has ever happened with xbox live

1) XBL down for maintenance:
www.screwattack.com/news/update-microsoft-says-xbox-live-was-down-due-routine-maintenance

2) Hasn't happened to XBL, but has happened to plenty of forced online services such as Diablo 3 and the new Simcity.

3)Hasn't happened to XBL, but has happened to the PS3 because people were pissed at Sony. Now people are pissed at Microsoft, so do the math.

4)Happened to the original xbox back in 2010.

User avatar #84 to #78 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
1. so basicly a few services werent working but xbox live was.
2. you seem to not realize how many people are on xbox live at a time. diablo isnt blizzards cash cow so they didnt put much priority in it. sim city was a true only online thing much like mmos.
3. there are people hacking bothe networks every day. or at least trying to. microsoft has always been able to protect their customers while sony failed to and had to pull their system down for a month.
5. memory serves the original xbox live was free and not connected to the new xbox live in any way. the new xbox live will carry over your new account and will contain all of your licenses for gaming. meaning that when the next xbox comes out your licenses will be available for you to download your games again
User avatar #90 to #84 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
1)Still got taken down for maintenance.
2)It's still a problem that could affect the xbl service, or just one game seeing as tons of games will require the piece of **** cloud.
3)People will be trying to hack the xbone even harder than they're trying to hack the 360.
4) ******** . They've said nothing of the sort. You always mention this and you never bring up a source.;

I've got nothing more to say to you. You're just a blatant fanboy, always chiming in whenever I post the ******* facts about the xbone.

If you support the xbone then you support corporate rights over consumer rights, simple as. Maybe you should take the corporate cock out of your mouth for five minutes and realise that the xbone could set an awful precedent for gaming.
User avatar #97 to #90 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
then give me the saurce that they wont. thats the funniest part about that statement your wildly speculating that microsfot hates their customers and wants them all to throw piles of money at them while they bend them over and **** them in the ass while microsoft has never shown anything of the sort. this an amazingly hilarious double standard "I can speculate because i dont like microsoft but you cant because you do" if you actually brought me facts i would believe you. maintenance is a one day thing and it isnt even the whole day. its a few hours. the best part is if you have been online in the past 24 hours you can still play your games as opposed to WoW fo instance where maintenance shuts everything down.

consumer rights are as such you have the right to buy what you want. you have the right to refuse to purchase something. corparate rights are you are allowed to charge whatever the **** you want for your products and services. guess which one is a constitutional right. not the consumer. microsoft isnt making me pay for **** im willingly paying for a console and im willingly paying for the online service i prefer. (sony is implementing a mandatory fee too) i have amazing internet and a dont conduct myself like an asshat online. do you think i or anyone else really gives a **** about anyone else? no and your just as bad since you think lowly of me for having a different opinion and speculation of the future.

So please sir before you tell me to stop sucking the dick of a company that has never wronged me and brought me amazing games, stop being the center of the circle jerk that is funnyjunk at the moment
User avatar #101 to #97 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
They haven't outright confirmed that games won't carry over between the xbone and the next one.

However, seeing as 360 games don't carry over to the xbone then it's logical to assume that it applies to the xbone too, and don't give me any ******** like "Oh well they'll probably make it so you can carry 360 games over later."

The PS4 is going to let people carry over PS3 games later. They've said so.

Microsoft has said nothing of the sort, and considering how many people hate the xbone at the moment, I think they'd be screaming about anything positive about the console.

Yes, It's speculation, but it's speculation based on Microsoft's previous actions. Whereas any of your speculation seems to be based around your fanboyism, thinking papa Microsoft will never hurt you.
User avatar #105 to #101 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
so microsoft has never brougth over games from the original xbox to the 360? i onwcrimson skies and psychonauts neither of which were on the 360 but i still have it on their. i own ******* sonic adventure 2 which has never been on a microsoft console so it is a good guess that they will eventually bring the games over.

and the only people that are still hating it are the people on this site who still think theyre imposing a used game fee and the kinect will be always on. i really have no idea what previous actions your talking about since most of the things your speculation is coming from came from the VP who has proven himself to have no idea whats actually going on in development since people on the develpment team have came out multiple times to correct him
User avatar #109 to #105 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
Oh yeah, porting old games over and making you pay for them again is totally the same as your games carrying over to the next console.
User avatar #111 to #109 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
well seeing as i had never bought them before it might as well have been. but im expecting all of my xbox live games to tranfer just fine eventually. thye have a proof of purchase. this is called faith in a company that has never done me wrong. as opposed to they havent outright said anything so all of our worst fears have been proven
User avatar #112 to #111 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
If they would eventually carry your games over they would have said something, considering that the xbone needs some good press right now.

As it is they've called those wanting backwards compatibility 'backwards', so I've think they've made their stance clear on the subject.

User avatar #118 to #112 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
yes the VP who ive said doesnt know **** as confirmed by people in the development correcting him. the people who are actually working so they cant come out every day to fix the public image since its not their jobs. especially since the only harm to their public image is places like funnyjunk. which i hope you realize means next to nothing in the real world since half the people bitching will buy on anyways since hating microsoft is the cool thing to do
User avatar #123 to #118 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
No it wasn't the VP. It was Steve Ballmer. The retard who told people with no internet to deal with it and get a 360 instead.

And if you really think people hating the xbone is an 'internet fad', then you really are a ******* ignoramus.

Mainstream newspapers have reported on it. Gamestop is handing out flyers to educate their customers on the console's ridiculous restrictions. Lewis Black brought it up on his TV show.
User avatar #132 to #123 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
they educate themselves and dont let others educate them. gamestop is going to hate it because it kill lot of their profit. personaly **** gamestop since theyll give me ten bucks for a game and sell it for 50 which is taking money away from the developers.

so the person who is even further detached from development is your proof.

you are also using a comedian as source material. which proves next to nothing. i love stand up comedy and 90% of them have a different opinion then me

maybe try stepping outside your house and talking to people
User avatar #136 to #132 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
I brought up the comedian to prove that xbone hatred isn't just an internet fad.

You keep changing the goal posts in this discussion.

You know what? I'm ******* done. There is no point in arguing with an idiotic fanboy such as you, who wants to see gaming potentially ruined just so he can get a new Halo.

Have fun with your DRM spy box. Have fun not being able to play any of your games in 10 years. Have fun wasting $500 on a console that turns into a ******* blu-ray player when Microsoft doesn't give a **** about it anymore.

Pieces of **** like you are killing gaming as an art form. Don't bother messaging me me again because I'll just ignore it. There's no point in conversing with an ignorant fanboy such as yourself.
User avatar #141 to #136 - sketchE ONLINE (06/16/2013) [-]
shame since the fan boy is the only one with his own opinion
#55 to #10 - underlois (06/16/2013) [-]
Also...what if their xbox account gets banned? The games are already tied in to that account..and if you can't use that account to access the games..you can't play them..and you can't just simply create a new one as the games have been already activated previously...
User avatar #57 to #55 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]

I've never heard them once say you have to be online to play single player games. It's almost like you guys don't even THINK about how stupid it sounds. No company is that ******* retarded. Not even Microsoft. Where have they said this?
User avatar #49 to #48 - thewaronbeingcool (06/16/2013) [-]
They've said that the console needs a connection once a day otherwise you can only use it to watch films and tv.

news.xbox.com/2013/06/connected

"With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies. "

So no singleplayer or multiplayer.
User avatar #31 to #10 - ajlyoshi (06/16/2013) [-]

User avatar #41 to #40 - ajlyoshi (06/16/2013) [-]
No, I haven't, but that had to be connected 24/7 and wasn't a Microsoft server. It was EAs server.
User avatar #42 to #41 - lyiat (06/16/2013) [-]
Irrelevant. It happens with every single MMO release, it happened with Diablo 3, and it will happen with the Xbox One. Just you wait.
User avatar #43 to #42 - ajlyoshi (06/16/2013) [-]
Ignoring the fact that it needs to connect every 24 hours. Ignoring the fact that Xbox servers have had no history of crashing for longer than 24 hours. Ignoring the fact that server crashes are nothing more than speculation until they happen. Comparing MMO servers to Microsoft servers. It's also amazing that everyone seems to forget that 2 years ago the PSN not only was hacked and down for a month, but that they barely did anything to beef up the security. Everyone is quick to forgive them, but when Microsoft announces a daily check in to the servers every 24 hours people lose it over record of "massive crashes" that haven't happened and have no evidence of happening.
