The biggest problem with us Brazilians is the serious lack of patriotism. We act as if we are the absolute worst country and that we got no reason whatsoever to be proud of it. We take every change we get to bash it and demean it in front of others and then we wonder why no one respects us. Our country has issues of course, but, it also has a lot of qualities that should be highlighted.

What you're doing here is just border lining ridiculous. Could the government have spent all that money on a more serious matters? Of course. But, the money has already been spent, so you might at least hope that with the world cup and summer Olympics we earn all that money back and hopefully shine a light on the good things we have to offer.

Now, shame on you and all of those people who think we have it so tough over here. You should go live abroad for a while so you can learn a thing or two about the world.
If we never believe in our country it will never change.

Considering the stadiums are already built, it would make the loss even worse if they kept all the tourist revenue from entering the country during the World Cup. This post is pretty dumb.

Yes. Don't come to Brazil. Please, don't allow the people to recuperate the insane amount of money which the government has taken from us.

Dont come here to boost out economy.

Don't come here to celebrate our culture.

If nobody comes to the world cup, Brazil loses billions of dollars - making the problems even worse. It's a wellknown fact that tourism is good for the economy

This post is pretty ******* retarded

...Or you know, the large quantity of tourists will boost your economy while the billions of dollars spent building stadiums created a bunch of jobs for you.

But if no one goes, Brazil loses the billions of dollars it would get from tickets, and tourism. All the money spent on hotels, food, and other stuff...

Been to Brazil, I wasn't mugged, scammed or whatever (which makes me probably the 1% of tourists in Brazil) but the three friends I went with were all mugged at one point, one was chased and then beaten up by a group of people right outside of our hotel.
The police there are no help what so ever, either.

It was as if the gangs had people watching us so they knew when one of us was alone, I don't know why I wasn't targeted but it was pretty lucky.

We were in Rio, and as stated in the content the hospitals are ***** , when we were there the city was over flowing with tourists and the hospital we went to seemed to be filled with only tourists. Most were there because of food poisoning, but we saw some other street attacks, similar to my friend.

Tourism is needed for the Brazilian economy, and I don't agree with the contents main message. However if any of you guys do decide to go, you shouldn't go alone, keep your money and valuables in your hotel room (assuming you don't need them) and don't flash your cash.

All in all we had a good trip!

Wouldn't the revenue generated from the World cup fund the country to get it into a better position..
Like any other industrialising country, the poor has to suffer before the country overall becomes a better place..
