I agree, obesity is bad, but I think there's a bit of a disconnect in the terminology. This is probably a bad example, but I see porn videos all the time which have the title as something about a "chubby" or "fat" girl. However, when I watch the video, 8 out of 10 times it's just an average girl. Not skinny, but also definitely not fat.

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this trend, or if it's just me, but it seems that society has drastically lowered the qualifications for being fat, so much so that if you're not skinny, you're chubby. There's no middle ground of normalcy.

average is not equal to healthy weight.
more and more people are heavier now so that most are rather chubby relative to what constitutes a healthy weight.

Huh, whenever I see "chubby" in porn, it's usually a whale posing as a chubby girl. Chubby is being slightly bigger than usual, if you have 2 chins, you a fat ****.
