oh really? if that's true then explain to me how the Galileo spacecraft managed to reach jupiter in six years? It was launched in 1989 and became the first manmade satellite to orbit jupiter in 1995, also I'm pretty sure we could get there faster with todays technology

Well, there haven't been any significant advances in standard rocketry since the 80s. Theoretical nuclear rocketry has been refined and improved, but due to political limitations a nuclear powered mission would never get approved.
