I don't understand that phrase, "___ can be seen from space" if you look at a satellite image you can't see anything except large masses like mountain ranges or greenland. You can see the great pyramids or the great wall if you zoom in really far, but then again you can also see houses and hookers on street corners

I never understood this fact as a kid. Sure, it may be long enough to be distinguishable from space, but how could it possibly be wide enough? It seems to me that it wouldn't be wider that 100 feet at the base, but perhaps I'm just ignorant.
