Ok, FJ, I'm not exactly certain here so help me out. What happens if you get the Xbox One and you can't connect to the internet for a full 24 hours? I can't imagine that the system would just stop working, that would be ludicrous. Why would it be any different than unplugging your current system from your internet?

It says It can't host a connection or something and tells you to connect. You then either get your disc, put it in the device, or quit your game.

The rest of it still works. Like say, the Bluray drive.

You just connect back to your internet. Nothing bad happens other than not being able to play games while it is offline for longer than 24 hours. There is no hidden charge, fee or punishment. Don't listen to retards.

Not being able to play the game that I bought (with which I can legally do anything I want, because it's mine and I bought it with my own goddamn money) is 'punishment' enough, to be perfectly frank.

im guessing its more off everything after that 24 hours is a desperate struggle to get online

It's not like the 360. It wouldn't allow you to play any games offline if it hasn't verified for 24 hours, which of course is **** .
#130 to #15 - anonymous (06/13/2013) [-]
You can play it for 24 hours, then when you get internet again, you can play until it goes + 24 more hours.

When you get internet, it's activated again, and can be played until the net goes off and 24 hours passes.

You have to connect ONCE every 24 hours, once you make the connection you will be allowed to play offline for another 24 hours. If you miss the 24 hour deadline, all you have to do is reconnect to the internet to get another 24 hour offline timer.

You'll probably have to slide your credit card in it I'd imagine.

The xbox one check if you have access to a game via his server. If you don't connect in 24h, the system won't be able to check if you still have the game, and it won't let you play.

but hey, YOU CAN STILL WATCH TV

I still don't understand, they're not stupid enough to disable all games indefinitely just because you went on holiday for more than 24 hours, surely you just have to log on and verify stuff.
User avatar #85 to #31 - nexuser (06/13/2013) [-]
I think it's just that nothing will work until it s verified again sort of thing, so like after you come back, it automatically verifies the connection and continues... It's still a ******* awful concept though
User avatar #186 to #85 - trollwoopnazi ONLINE (06/13/2013) [-]
To put it quite simply, you must be online to play games.
User avatar #26 to #16 - lizardnigger (06/13/2013) [-]
you can now watch tv

Even if I have the disc in the system?
#25 to #18 - paradoxpoetic (06/13/2013) [-]
They kind of turned the disc into something similar for a computer, with online requirements. A game I can think of like this off the top of my head is C&C 4, with the movable command bases. After using the disc to install the game, you then must maintain an internet connection to play the game. This was, no game can be played on two different computers/consoles simultaneously. And yes, if you don't check in I'm sure they'll give you a warning and will halt the process of the game should you not comply.
User avatar #20 to #18 - sadaros (06/13/2013) [-]
Think of the Disc as a serial key for the xbone, all games have to be installed and they have to check the servers to see if you have the "rights" to play the game
#19 to #18 - anonymous (06/13/2013) [-]
pretty much, if you don't have any connection 24 hours after it checked with the server last time you won't be able to play.

Just curious, how would you go about fixing that? Would you have to call their support center or something?

Please don't tell me you really are going to buy an xbox one......They have already said that if you want to buy a used game, you will have to pay the full price of a new release to microsoft. Just let this company's gaming department go down in flames already.

Get your **** right before you spout off lol. First thing all game transfers can be completed once free of charge(and once you trade/sell your game do you really care if they can trade it?) and it's not the full price of the game it's a small fee, or they are gonna do a monthly/yearly thing. Get your facts right dinkface.
User avatar #65 to #49 - musclemarinade (06/13/2013) [-]
You enjoying micro$oft's cock down your throat? Because it sure as hell sounds as if it's pretty deep in there. they haven't stated what the fee will be dumb **** . I've read on a leak site that for new release games it would be close to the full price of the game. Open up your eyes before Micro$oft goes in dry on release day.
User avatar #69 to #65 - daveyishere (06/13/2013) [-]
As I said get your facts right, do you really care that the person you give/sell/trade a game too that they can't do the same without paying? And if it's a new release that usually means you get it new lol so again no fee. So are you just making up lies or simply downright retarted?
