Not all football players are like that. Take for example Frank Lampard. He might not be as famous as this wuss, but shows a clean fair-play football.

There's a real big difference in football/soccer between countries. I love how the English really want to play and won't cry every time someones touches them. That's why I hate the Portugese with all my guts...

what do you mean Lampard is not famous, he is a legend, and also ronaldo now with Madrid never acts.

I agree, he's an excellent player and I really appreciate the fact that he managed to avoid serious media controversies so far. He's my favourite player.
The "not famous" part refered to him not being widly known in internet culture, unlike Ch. Ronaldo... unfair, but perhaps it's better that way

avoid controversy? do you not remember when him and a couple of other players were taking the piss out of americans at an airport right after 9/11? and then i'm sure there was a sex tape of him or something. and he's friends with terry and, lets face it, to be friends with terry you've got to be a bit of a scumbag yourself.

I don't really remember that, and it's 9/11 was pretty long ago. As for the other stuff... so far, he has a clean sheet, in my oppinion. I mean, I checked again for stuff that might incriminate him but apart from some statements he made which were labeled as controversial, nothing else... he's an ok person.

too bad Chelsea don't want to sign a new contract with him, their loss.

Kompany broke his nose and cheek bone and got concussion during the important match for Blegium vs Serbia last week. He completed the game, played one of the best matches in his life, thanked the audience and did some interviews before going to the hospital. He's now Belgium's national hero.

tl;dr: a lot of soccer players are pussies but not all of them!

Kompany, imo, is the best cb in the world. I feel he makes up the heart of the Belgium team and I hope that Man City keep him.

Important to note that the player in this post (Kompany) and the first player in OPs image (Trautmann) Both play/played for the same football club.

Mark Fraser got a puck to the face, fractured his skull, got up, got undressed, followed by walking to the hospital...

Bobby Baun. Broke his leg. Came back and scored the game winning goal in overtime to win the Stanley Cup

There was a rugby player who dislocated his leg and when they pushed it back in they pushed his bollock in with it trapping his testicle between his leg and his pelvis.

cristiano ronaldo: played a game, someone cut his eye which could cause lots of damage, finished the game AND scored 2 goals with on eye.

I've lost interest in football when I was around 6. All I saw were faggots faking hurt knees and yelling at referee that they deserve free kickoff.

Gregory Campbell breaks his leg and is clearly in agonizing pain, and still finishes his shift and kills off a penalty
