Wow that guy looks so manly for some reason. Maybe it's the facial expression he carries while having a smoke and showing his kid's drawing, Idunno

i remember when i was about 11, there was a local gym that my parents would take me to to go swimming. they had a little table set up to write cards to soldiers. i remember writing about 10 of them, all saying, "dont get shot" some soldier got my letters.

It sounds like a 5th grader going home to his mom
"Hi sweetie, did you have a good war?"
"Yeah mom, I killed a dozen people!"
*Dad enters the room*
"Aww, good job sport, hey, how about we go play catch a grenade outside once you're done with your honorable discharge forms?"
"Gee wiz, dad! That'd be swell!"

I wonder if that soldier sent that post back to the kid(a son, daughter, elementary school pen-pal, etc.). And the soldier is smoking a cigarette...What kind of role model are you?

Have a good war sounds like a great motto for the next World War. When the soldiers are shipping out to fight in ***************** , banners and signs posted everywhere reading "Have a good war" with a smiling man giving the thumbs up.

we did this in 4th grade when we wrote letters to soldiers

the teacher actually brought in her son who was in the military

one of the kids asked "have you ever dodged bullets?"
he said yes

i asked him if he drove here in a tank
he said no
then in one of the letters i drew a picture of a tank

i feel like a dick, too

I teach second grade, and most kids (especially boys) are under the impression that going to war is the coolest thing ever, that being a soldier is fun, and killing people is easy.

Most kids don't know what war is really like. And honestly, that's how it should be. Children are supposed to be innocent. Some of my students are refugees from Somalia, and they are not so lucky.

sometimes I wonder if those letters from kids usually just end up giving soldiers a laugh, kids are innocent and don't realize how funny half of the **** they do is. I have a weird sense of humor, but I think that if I was over there right now that might be one of the few ways I unwind, I'd kind of figure that a funny letter from a kid would be better than a deep letter that makes you feel, know-whaddi-mean?

in all honesty, im 98% sure it was me... i was in like first or second grade or something like that. im sorry. i wish i could ask them what school they got it from to make sure.

Oh wow. A kid is forced to scribble out a thanks to someone whose probably a total cunt anyway, and he's not pleased. BIG SURPRISE!
