Voting won't do anything though, seeing as the electoral college representatives have no legal obligation to vote in accordance to the states popular vote, and that's just the start of it.

Voting picks the legislature and President. How is that nothing? They have no legal obligation that's true but can you give me an instance where a delegate didn't vote for the candidate who won that state?

I agree, it is rare (Only happened truly in 1824), but there are many other flaws with voting system. With the electoral college, even if no one votes, there will still be an electoral vote. And the vote of the minority matters not, I am most closely associated with the libertarian party while living in NY, a firmly democratic state. So, even on the occasions when the republican party would get a decent amount of popular votes, all the electoral votes would go to the democrats. And minor parties, like libertarians, have no chance in winning anything in any state. The only way voting would be effective if it was reformed to mirror the popular vote more accurately, and a popular vote would have too much of an error margin to be effective. The only way I would vote, is if the voting system was reformed into a way where all parties have the opportunity for equal media exposure (I.E debates) and the electoral votes are based on the popular votes (If 60% of the popular vote is DEM., then the DEMS should get 60% of the electoral and so on and so forth) any other way is inaccurate.

When we have groups like the Green Party and CPUSA, I'm glad they get no representation. Proportional Representation would give fascists and commies time on CSPAN which is what nobody wants. As for Libertarians, they tend to do well when they join the Republican Party. The average Republican would rather hear a libertarian(or libertarian leaning) with an R next to their name speak than listen to Karl Rove rambling on Fox News. Equal Media exposure isn't happening. The government can't enforce that because the media is private. And it makes no sense for the media to cover candidates that will get less than 5% of the vote. They want ratings. And as for proportional allocation of the electoral college, some states actually do that, Nebraska is one of them. The electoral college was put in place to preserve the sovereignty of the States and I respect that.

A few years back there was a bar about 20 miles from my house (its closed now) one time a guy got angry and tried to shoot the bartender in the forehead using a 22. short. The bartender popped it out like a zit and they threw the guy out after beating the crap out of him.

.22's velocity is too slow to fully puncture its way through the other side of your skull so it ends up going through your skull once, and then rattling around turning your brain into slush. just sayin'.
