Wait but why did the cops randomly turn violent? There has to be a different side to this than "The cops just randomly turned violent against a peaceful protest".
#683 to #8 - allahrules (06/13/2013) [-]
I really appreciate this comment you know. Those peaceful protesters have caused so much fuckıng property damage (to both prıvate and publıc property) thse people arent standıng up for shıt, the plans of the mall do not wreck the green space, they keep ıt and buıld a complex of stores around ıt. and btw that park ıs a breedıng grounds for druggies and prostitutes so good riddance my firemds

i guess you come from a more western part of the world, in other areas of the world, where i live especially you dont have to do much to give the police and excuse to beat you and fire tear gas at you, the police is a different sort of body when you go further east, its not your stereotypical american cop for justice.
#596 to #8 - anonymous (06/02/2013) [-]
So ignorant.
#577 to #8 - anonymous (06/02/2013) [-]
They're turks. They're violent apes.
#568 to #8 - anonymous (06/02/2013) [-]
special branches in the police, blending in with the crowd. then they suddenly throw rocks at the police or just destroy police fences amd acting violent, giving the police a reason to say

"they started it,we just reacted"

what happened in my country, when a protest against voting protocols called hundreds of thousands to the street.

*cough* bullshit *cough*
User avatar #548 to #8 - grogovic (06/02/2013) [-]
I'm a Turk, and they fucking do it all the time. They keep beating people around here and their most beloved weapon is gas grenades.
User avatar #550 to #548 - grogovic (06/02/2013) [-]
gas grenade.* Apologizes for my English, probably because I'm typing with so much anger.
User avatar #450 to #8 - trollwoopnazi (06/02/2013) [-]
What people like to leave out is that protestors were uprooting trees, shouting abuse at police officers and some even attacked officers. Im not saying that justifies the polices actions but it atleast makes more sense than 'peaceful protest'
User avatar #387 to #8 - missrainbowdash (06/02/2013) [-]
nice spin, cops turning violent isn't a new thing in shitty countries.

User avatar #612 to #359 - admiralen ONLINE (06/02/2013) [-]

#657 to #612 - weirdsauce (06/02/2013) [-]

I have not read replies, but I have yet to hear anything but the same drone's response.
"Body language was aggressive.", "The [Other word for person I fucked up] was being belligerent and I had felt the need to protect myself." Or a hybridization of the two.

In short, I do not trust anything that is given power above and beyond standard justice, and still does not take action against things that so deserve justice.

Examples? Use your imagination; I think you can guess a few.

We'll put a mall here so people can buy things. They just don't know they want a mall to buy things at here, they'll surely want a mall once we turn all violent on them.
User avatar #69 to #8 - morishige (06/02/2013) [-]
Well, have you heard of the kent state massacre? I don't know what has happened it Turkey, but the description sounded familiar.

You apparently haven't seen images from Civil Rights Protests in the 60's in America.
User avatar #609 to #46 - admiralen ONLINE (06/02/2013) [-]
lol, you realize that theres almost always retarded protesters who start that shit, i mean, in the occupy wall street stuff, we see OMG THEY PEPPERSPRAYED THEM FOR NO REASON, they were trespassing on the campus grounds illegally and they were warned for about 15 minutes before the cops were forced to drag them away, im not gonna judge a protest riot until ive seen both sides

the government is pretty much authoritarian

they made the cops do it
User avatar #40 to #8 - Onemanretardpack (06/01/2013) [-]
It happens all the time. Tensions rise, some asshole fires, and then everyone opens fire, fearing for their lives. Funny how it usually only happens in places with highly militarized police... You know, seeing how they're supposed to dissolve this shit, not start it. Almost every time riots like this start, is because of a heavyhanded and overbearing police presence

I don't like Turkey, they took over half of my parent's and grandparents country and bombed the street my mother lived on as a child.

Erdogan's government is a rather authoritarian one. They only know how to keep order by force. When they couldn't get people to move just by showing their muscle... Well, I'm guessing they showed their teeth. And from there it escalated.

And why? Because they wanted to build a mall on a fucking park, and the people didn't like that.
User avatar #396 to #9 - jmastermafia (06/02/2013) [-]
Actually, the mall was just one thing, the national television from my country sent reporters there and apparently, Erdogan wanted to completely ban alcohol in the country, and since not everyone is a Muslim in Turkey, they took it as an act against human rights.
#554 to #396 - anonymous (06/02/2013) [-]
That doesn't make sense, considering their Constitution allows Freedom of Religion.
#529 to #396 - meinneger (06/02/2013) [-]
And let's not forget that the park is built on top of and as a memorial to the Armenian Genocide.

If you are a fan of System Of A Down, you should know and respect that struggle and should absolutely support this protest.
#588 to #529 - anonymous (06/02/2013) [-]
In the media in my country they said that the park was a memorial for the establishment of the Turkish republic.

Yeah, forget the fucking mall!
Let's jsut build another fast food restaurant, that's what we need.
Really, another fucking mall over a fucking park?
Are you serious?
We need to stop childhood obesity, not destroy it.
Parks incourage kids to get active..
Malls incourage buy new clothes and eat oru fast food.
User avatar #41 to #11 - Onemanretardpack (06/01/2013) [-]
This isn't even in America, middle eastern countries are usually pretty good with obesity

I believe he used "we" in the broader sense of "humans", than people of his country.
