If I have a daughter (or ever even meet someone for that matter, inb4 **** im lonely), the shotgun stays at the door for 2 things
1) Daughter leaving for the night in clothing i don't approve of
2) Guy coming to the house, guess who greets him at the door

what is it with fathers being overly protective of the daughter? If it was the son, you would high five him. Yay, double standards

you have no idea what to actually expect,

1. youre not going to shoot your own kid
2. by basically scarring people away from your house you leave them no choice than to do stupid stuff behind your back rather than being able to keep track of whats going on at your house

you can only control someone for so long and by doing this youre going to drive your kid further away its better to instill good morals and respect between each other instead of putting in place punishments and scare tactics because of your bad parenting
