It appears to be a photograph of a rocket or shuttle of some kind with a minute long or so exposure time. Probably taken from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
For anyone who hasn't seen a shuttle launch from up close, it is a deafening thunder and a light brighter than the sun that will light up the night sky to make it as bright as day outside.

Look, I realise I'm about to get a load of red thumbs for this but you people have to realise that a picture of a rocket taking off isn't science. It's good photography.
Science would be a diagram of the rocket or an explanation of how it works or even an explanation of WHY it's going up
But you didn't even know what this was until someone commented it. Sure, it's related to science but its not science itself
