I really don't understand how everything could evolve specifically to kill humans...if no humans were there. The only thing that could make sense is that they evolved before they left and that is why they had to leave.

Oceania is not a continent.

I think that movie is extremely inaccurate. Unless there is a plot point where evolution is sped up extremely, 1000 years is not long enough for animals to evolve to the point where they are giant and are complete enemies to the human race.

I really want to see this movie because I actually like Jaden Smith as an actor (though I suspect that he might be little messed in the head in real life) and because I like the premise of the film. That being said, even if I were to accept the premise that all things on earth suddenly trended towards killing humans, I still cant get past the concept that they would continue to do so after humans had left the planet.

That's just not how evolution works.

I think the idea is that wherever they are at this point in evolution, they've still got the traits that let them kill humans. They haven't lost those traits yet, because they would still be useful for some time in the remnants of a world created by humans.

It sounds like an alright movie aside from all the ******* flaws of the plot. Such as:
why go back?
1000 ******* years?
What ******* retarded animal told all the animals "hey you know what we should do we should evolve to defend against those people who left"?
Shouldn't these ******* who were even able to leave a 1000 ******* years ago be able to defend themselves?

And some questions just for ***** and giggles,
why the **** would the smiths star in an M. Night film?
and why would m. night think it would be a good idea to bite into the now dead 2012 **** ?

Why did they leave the planet in the first place? If they have space ships, you would think they could defend themselves from predators.
