I'm an atheist and I hate other atheists who act like they're smarter than people who believe in a god. They declare themselves atheists like it's another form of belief system that unites them.

This post is actually perfect compared to the Gervais post.

It's eloquently spoken, unprovocative, and makes complete sense. Thank you Stephen Fry.

People sit here and argue their whole life and die realizing that they didnt enjoy their life and had no experiences. All because they feel like they have to prove a point

there was a time when religion had total control of europe, it was called the dark ages.

Good lord man. If you weren't trying to preach atheism you wouldn't have said that.

People who don't believe in the toothfairy dont shout at children saying "SHE'S NOT REAL"

Talking about and explaining his beliefs doesn't make him a preacher. He's not trying to convince anyone atheism is right.

I hate those whip-my-dick-all-up-in-yo-face atheists that preach "atheism" like it's the one true religion. Man, atheism shouldn't even be a thing.

I don't believe in any sort of deity, but I will for the love of **** not classify myself as an atheist because of these people.

theres also christians who dont try to spread christianity, same as athiests such as this guy. theres athiests who put christians down. and theres christians who put athiests down. but not all do this. i dont understand why this has to be such a ******* huge neverending debate. the existense of the opposite belief system affects peoples lives and beliefs in no way so there is no reason to argue about it.

I'm not trying to spread atheism. I'm just going to bring it up everywhere I go and talk about religious people like they are children.

stephen fry never brings it up unless someone talks to him about it

Except our founding fathers were religious...

The first 10,000 Bibles printed in English in America were minted by our first Congress "for use in schools"

Their is a Bible (still exists today in some guys collection of documents and bibles) that was used by the founding fathers. It holds signatures from over 70% of the founding fathers.

I may not be religious, but there is far more evidence supporting that our founding fathers was than there is disproving it. You can't ignore the evidence supporting it in favor of the other evidence.

As far as being "told what's the case" there is no way in hell he is actually against that. Anyone who has gone to school has been told what is the case. Anyone who knows what evolution is (unless you are Darwin) has been told what is the case. Anyone who knows about the good old Dinosaurs, has been told what is the case. Anyone who has an inkling of what Ancient Egypt was like as far as pharaohs and what not, has been told what's the case.
