That's right. I'm vegan and I can't breastfeed my baby (maybe because I'm a male).

Atleast they actually fed the baby breastmilk! I mean, a baby died in America not-to-long-ago because it's vegan parents thought breastmilk was inhumane so they fed it soy! MFW

To be fair, cow milk is actually bad for certain parts of your body. Most of us just aren't use to it yet. 99 percent of Asians are still lactose intolerant. Goat milk on the other hand, is a little better.

That said, milk is still better for you than not, and love strawberry milk. I just understand why some people don't like drinking it. Them *****, doe.

can easily see the translation of logic in their system of "no animal labor involved" and breastfeeding.

This DOES NOT speak for all vegans, please don't think it does. These were irresponsible stupid parents who did it wrong. I'm a vegan and take all of the proper supplements and have a clean bill of health from my doctor. Someone I work with has raised two vegan children and they're happy healthy kids. If I ever get pregnant I will without a doubt have a nutirtionalist to be sure my baby and I are getting everything they need. Please please pleeease don't let this dumbass mother speak for all of us.

Did you see a nutritionist or a dietitian? Because literally anyone can call themselves a nutritionist (in a lot of countries) whereas dietitian means something.

Most people see a plate of steak as a meal, but I can't seem to shut of the part of my mind that tells me it was a being that wanted to live up until it's last breath. It's just the way I am I guess. Also I've never really been a huge fan of meat anyways

I never thought that reasoning made sense. I know that every piece of meat I eat is from what used to be a living being, but I don't see how that makes a difference. Animals eat animals; people are animals. Why can't humans eat other animals? Why is it okay to eat plants, which are also living, but not animals? Vegans/vegetarian arguments that go like that make no sense to me. Also, it's pretty arrogant to assume that you know what an animal was thinking - how do you know the animal wanted to live? You don't.

If they want to argue about the way animals are treated, fine, but that's the only argument they have that I see the logic in.

If I see an animal fight for it's life then I know it wants to live. A lion hunts a gazelle with everything it was born with. It doesn't raise it in a cage , feed it antibiotics that make it grow unnaturally, and then slaughter it with man made tools.

Rofl! Well I personally wouldn't eat it because I don't find meat appetizing anyways. But that being said, I give two thumbs up to farmers who don't use factory farm practices. If it's done as humanely as possible and they live a nice, comfortable, healthy life before hand, then heck yes.

It doesn't speak for all vegans, no. I'm still not totally on board with raising kids vegan, though. I just really don't think you should restrict a child's diet that much totally without their consent, but hey, that's just my opinion.

I get that vegetarianism is about (for most people) the life of the animal, but what about vegaism appealed to you? I've never actually met someone non-insane to ask.

I'm not saying most vegans are insane by that comment, but the one person I know tried to put my leather shoe 'oh dat's just cow to U RITE!'.

Well my take on it is that I'm going to raise my kids vegan, but when they're old enough to understand being vegan vs. not then it's totally up to them to decide what they want to eat. I was a vegetarian for four years before I became a vegan (I think I've been vegan for almost 6 years now). I decided that I wasn't exactly living up to what I believed in, considering the dairy industry can be just as horrific. I just love all animals so much. I want to do everything in my power to not be a part of the suffering. Plus I feel like I've become so much healthier. I now don't even eat fast food, potato chips, anything like that.

Say that your eight year old child (when they grow that old) decides they like meat / cheese / some fast food (I don't like most fast foods myself) and want to eat it...
Will you yourself go out and buy cheese or pork (or similar meats from different animals) for them to eat at mealtime?

I will not buy or prepare anything non vegan but if they have the means to do it themselves (or decide to eat non vegan at a friends house or whatever) that's ok.

That's hardly fair, don't you think? "You're allowed to eat all this but you have to have an awesome friend or wait until you can get a job". Not exactly giving them a decision.
My mother was vegan herself but still cooked me meat and such because I liked it and she truly gave me that decision to make.

If I went out buying meat for my kid, then I would be giving money to an industry that I don't want to support. I don't even know how to prepare non vegan food. Chances are though if my kid is 8 years old and has been a vegan their whole life they're not gonna come home one day and say HEY MOM MAKE ME A STEAK KTHX.

Why is it that these parents were charged but the parents that refused treatment tried to pray away an illness in their baby which soon died got away fine?

They only got away because:

A.) They could claim to be martyers and gain a lot of support from the people of their church
B.) They had a bunch of other kids
C.) They might have had more money

And they had two kids who died because they tried to pray away the illness. And they are on probation where they are required to take their kids to the hospital if they get sick.
