Iceberg is actually a strange word. WTF is a "berg"?

Seeing how Berg is the word for mountain on Dutch & German and how "bjerg", is used in Scandinavia, it's pretty obvious. Icemountain didn't contain enough swag to be an official word.

Berg means mountain in German, so a mountain made out of ice. You're welcome.

In Norwegian, berg means something more like a small mountain. We call icebergs "isfjell", which is directly translated into icemountain. But i think it would make more sense if Norwegians called it "isberg" since icebergs are not as big as mountains.

I think ice mountain (isfjell) is better. It's called the tip of the iceberg for a reason. There's a ******* mountain of ice beneath the surface.

That would be startling but not scary, considering boats don't do well on land.

Actually, yes. You try taking a slow, huge-ass boat on land and see how far you get.

Generally, the same could be said of other ships and pack ice, but that doesn't stop it.
Also, it's a joke. Why don't you go get your knickers un-knotted.
