You guys do know that Microsoft is a business, right?
They don't focus on what a single group want from their console.
They have to see what all the groups (Casual Gamers, Hardcore Gamers, etc.) want so they can make as much of a profit as they can.

By ******* over the fans that got them there in the first place?

It's a console war. If the nerds don't buy a console people WILL wonder "Hey why aren't the smart guys buying this console?"

Not to mention their whole paying extra for a used game.
Now how they explained it was basically this; A new game will be connected to a gamertag once installed, if you want to install it to a new gamertag or if you buy it used then you have to pay a "modest price" to hook it up to your account. If my little sister, my dad, my cousin and I all share a console with 4 different live accounts We get to pay for one new game and 3 "modest prices" to play a game that we should be able to play to begin with.

And finally I want you to consider what Microsoft considers a "Modest price".
The first Fable (Not TLC, just Fable) is going for 25 bucks on live right now.
That's half of what Saints Row 4 will cost on release day.

There is no such thing as a perfect pasta sauce, only perfect pasta sauces. They will never be able to please everyone with a single console. They can try but we all see what happens with homogenization (Dead Space 3). Yes companies exist to make money, but they also need to understand that in attempts to include everyone you usually just end up with a mediocre experience across the board. Who want's to pay good money for a mediocre experience?
