And this is a university/college related post. No one is bashing art here, they are just bashing the people who waste their time on degrees when they could be using that time better.

Do you really think all of the really good musicians, who have become household names and strut their stuff to the world, have degrees? Seriously?

You do not need university for musical theory. Most serious musicians should have at least a firm grasp on grade 5 theory by the time they leave college/high school. I don't deny that high school helps with music, but after that it pretty much becomes a dead end for most musicians. They would be better off actually jumping straight in to the industry via gigging like crazy and putting their name out there like a desperate ****** . If anything, Uni only slows down that process.
