What you have to remember is that each star in a galaxy is incredibly far away from the nearest one, if you just imagine that each point in that gif represents an infinitely small point which drags on all the other ones, it makes a bit more sense

we did **** like this in marching band when I was in high school.

except, you know, while holding instruments. It's even harder when you have people holding sousaphones and trombones, and you're supposed to keep playing when you mesh.
