I think most adults could paint that. I'm pretty content I could paint that. Not that it's not awesome, still.

At the same time, a chain probably hurts a lot, just bare on it's skin...

Would be nice if they at least got something not so hard on it. I really don't know anything about elephants though, maybe it's fine... idk.

Elephants are actually trained to do this through guidance from their trainer. They stand to one side of the elephant and they do different signals on the elephant's ear to tell them what to do. So, unfortunately the elephants don't ever paint whatever they feel like painting... But it's still amazing that they know what trainer wants and they can paint it with such precision with their trunk.

I would say it's similar to horseback riding. The trainer is kinda like the horseback rider. Even though the horse is trained and the rider is telling it what to do, I still think it's absolutely amazing to see it do things like this:

No, elephants by nature prefer to take photographs and put them in an album so they can reminisce over old memories.

It does make it easier to mourn their dead.

Nah, unlike humans, elephants take a fairly flippant attitude to death. They believe in karmatic reincarnation, but they're not part of any sort of organised religion, it's just common knowledge amongst the elephant nation. A general idea of "what goes around comes around".

"And here's a really nice one of your uncle Mortimer. He's a celebrity you know? Has his own shelf in a museum. He came back as a bad case of syphilis for the guy who shot him. Taught him a lesson he did."

See, now I know you're talking out of your ass. It's a well known fact that elephants mourn their dead. Sometimes not leaving their side, except for water, for up to three days after the loss of a comrade.

Nah, that's just because they want first dibs on the tusks. They're interchangeable you know, but they have to wait for the coroners report before they can pilfer them. Some tusks have been handed down for generations, there's some lucky elephants walking around with woolly mammoth tusks from their ancestors.
