You need to login to view this link

Here. This does wonders when you need to wake up at a certain time.

If the URL was deleted, it's sleepytime where 'me' takes place of what would be a '.com'
So sleepyti (dot) me (slash) wake (slash)

Did you not go to the site and read what it tells you to do??

Basically it tells you when you should be asleep to wake up alert and refreshed (for lack of a better word), or when would be best for you to wake up if you went to bed at a certain time.

It does all this through calculations to the REM cycles of your sleep.

If you need explanation on sleep cycles, google it.
- TL;DR on sleep cycles; humans gain 30 minutes of rest per 90 minutes of sleep, so a typical REM cycle (deep sleep? or light sleep, I don't remember which) lasts 90 minutes. Waking up between cycles is good; waking up in a cycle is not good. This tells you when to go to sleep or when to wake up between cycles so you're good to go for the day (for the most part).

I have a polyphasic sleep schedule so I only need 2 hours a night

Then that link is probably no good for you.

Never use a snooze button. Instead I set 2 alarms. 1 for the time I need to get up and the other an hour/hour and a half before that. Because the best way to start the day is knowing you get to sleep for another hour.

I wrote "10 extra minutes of sleep won't make you feel any better when you get up, it will only make you 10 minutes behind schedule." on a sticky note and put it on my snooze button.

Does it work?
User avatar #18 to #12 - paintplayer (05/18/2013) [-]
It does, and honestly I've gotten much happier since I did that and also in my dorm I lofted my bed like 6 feet up so when I get out of bed I literally have to jump out of it so I'm 100% awake. Sets a better tone for the day.

I do the same thing only I put my phone across the room as far as possible. Maybe I should put a sticky note on my phone too.

I think it makes me feel better if I hit snooze a few times, just make sure you put your alarm early enough that you can afford to hit it a few times.

true. But sometimes snooze is helpful, if you plan for it. It's just 10 or so minutes of being awake, lying down. Kind of preparing yourself for the imminent get up. Kind of makes it easier
