Christianity may not be directly responsible for the dark ages, but one of two things happen: Jesus really was God (an omnipotent, omniscient, perfect being) made flesh and refused to tell us anything about science or technology, like electricity, or even medicince--in fact, to the contrary, told us disease and illness was caused by demonic possession and could only be cured by a priest--or two, the whole thing is a crock of stupid, archaic, outdated, nonsensical, dogmatic ******** made from biased, scared, old men living in an ancient, primitive desert society impossibly far removed from our own. Either way, it's obvious what a detrimental, cancerous, debilitating blight on society.

Alright, here's my two cents.
During the dark ages, christians had a few plusses, and a few minus. All had massive effects due to scaling

Positives:
Banding together under fear of god
Hope
Retaining of the holy tongue (Latin)
-This is quite possibly the largest one, when we came across roman texts the monks deciphered them from guess what? Latin. So all that lost knowledge was slowly regained. It meant some form of writing continued.

Negatives
Inquisition
-Run like hell or you will find your anus impaled on the top of a pyramid shaped device as gravity slowly rips you apart and rodents eat your entrails while you scream yourself to death.
Suppression of new advances
-While they did work at this, a big belief at the time came from looking at roman ruins. We as a race were this wondrous society, and we suddenly dropped down- Imagine if right now we were suddenly cast back two hundred years technologically, and we had the ruins of now to look at. People thought we would never reach that height again, improvement or surpassing was an unheard of idea.

if you "lrn2history" you'll see people like galileu galilei being ****** by christians, afraid to lose control of population, since the land lord system was hereditary, and the family was chosen by god.
tho i agree those annons are ignorant
you are either as much ignorant as them, or worse, either way "lrn2history"

Except there are literally hundreds of world class universities founded by the Catholic Church and various Protestant sects. In matter of fact any university older than say 150 years old was most likely founded by a religious sect.

TL;DR.
I didn't take the original image blaming Christians seriously, nor do I need a massive *********** wall of text telling me why the original image is false.
