Smart is a relative, and often misleading term, my wife comes off as stupid way too often -but she's also a store manager of one of the largest retail chains. Has the best numbers in her entire district, made it to this position after only 4 years in retail, and etc. (store manager as in she runs the store and makes 70k + per year in retail).

She also thought the twin towers were what they were referring to in "National Treasure" when the twin desks thing came up. She was so proud of that a-ha moment too. Yes, she thought the clues hidden in the "twins resolute" in 1800s (or whatever year it was) were the twin towers.

for everyone even considering the notion that he doesn't think she's smart

it's a trick question, if he says no, then he just called her stupid
if he says yes, than she's going to ask why he doesn't talk to her about smart things and that he doesn't care and blah blah blah
