If I could direct it in my head, every book would end up like this

I realized how insulting it is giving us Romeo & Juliet to read in high school, when it's just a parody of teenage love. It's like if your music teacher, the teacher puts on Weird Al to teach you about cord progression.

Am I the only one here who finds reading boring and an inefficient way to have fun or relax? The thing that bothers me are all those book worms and reading elitists who tend to be very arrogant and look down upon others as if they're ignorant. Personally, I've read a few books here and there but unless the book itself is exceptionally interesting (or I'm forced otherwise), I tend to get really bored easily. As for the learning process, people exhibit preferred different styles of learning. The readers tend to learn visually, some people learn auditory and some prefer to learn kinesthetically.

3 lines of text ≠ novel.

I've been through a avid reading phase when I was a teenager but I remember it all started when I was looked down on so much just because I wasn't a keen reader. I believe reading is still important to a certain extent but not to the degree of pursuing it as a committed hobby. If there are slow scenes in novels, I get bored easily. If scientific books get into the nitty, gritty detail where it gets horribly complicated, then my brain begins to hurt. I'd spent most of my childhood just playing games and the cognitive skills which I had picked up from puzzle-style games (like dungeons in Zelda) had enhanced my mathematical skills, problem solving skills and had even inspired me into science. Each to their own but people who prefer to play games rather than read shouldn't be rendered as stupid or lazy.

its not that, just books are incorruptible un like anything digital that can be edited, destroyed or modified at any given time, should there ever be a technological disaster or war books will be all we have left which is why they are essential. This is not rant books bore me also lol

What is so wrong about not reading actual books? I love reading, but if an easier way to read is developed, isn't that an improvement? If someones reading a book on their tablet or w/e, it's still reading.

I don't see the point in buying books you'll only read once and shove in a bookcase, better to just download it, read it and delete it
