Maybe grammar died before the invention of the Internet and we do know it.

Actually, it died in 2008.

Oh, you hate Obama? You must be quite the rebel.
User avatar #397 to #393 - unncommon (05/10/2013) [-]
I don't "hate" Obama. He's my president, I'm not some ******* communist.

I strongly disagree with mostly everything that he does.

That doesn't mean democracy died when he took office. There's going to be more than one way to achieve a certain goal, and you're not going to agree with all of them, but that doesn't mean no one will. Actually, the simple fact that yo u do dislike most of the decisions he's made is more proof that democracy still works, because we're able to have someone as president who makes decisions you may or may not agree with (people that's mwhat the MAJORITY of people wanted.)

I realize you were just trying to make a joke, but that was just some horrible form. You can't just walk in, make a politically charged statement, and then expect people to get your "joke" when just the statement alone would barely work as a punchline in itself.

HAHAHA BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WANT OBAMA TO BE PRESIDENT, BUT THEN HE TOTALLY BECAME PRESIDENT, AND THEN AMERICA TOTALLY WENT TO **** !
EXCEPT NO IT DIDN'T AND YOU'RE JUST AN ASSHURT CONSERVAFAG!

with a tiny dick

I'm actually an independent (more Libertarian than anything though), and you seem a little more erratic about this than I do.

In all reality we might as well be a Plutocracy. Money decides most of what happens whether we like it or not.

To be fair, there is no major country in the world today which practices democracy.

Inb4 people don't know the difference between a democracy and a republic.

Direct democracy happens at the local level in the United States, we are too populous to successfully have a direct democracy at the federal level.
User avatar #349 to #348 - traelos ONLINE (05/10/2013) [-]
Correct.
User avatar #350 to #349 - failtolawl (05/10/2013) [-]
Well you said there is no major country and the United States, like it or not, is pretty major, and we technically do still practice democracy.
User avatar #351 to #350 - traelos ONLINE (05/10/2013) [-]
The United States, as a country doesn't practice democracy. Towns in the U.S. practice democracy. This is not the same thing.

Indirect democracy is a form of democrazy.

"Democracy" is not nessecarily meant as "A democracy" but as a way of appointing the leaders etc. of the country, eg. the U.S. is a democratic republic. There are few democracies in the world, but many that practice democracy in one form or another.
User avatar #30 to #28 - traelos ONLINE (05/09/2013) [-]
Republican (in terms of in a republic, not the American political party) leaders are picked democratically, otherwise it's an oligarchy
