I really never understood why gospel music was the genre of choice in a movie about Greek Mythology...

In Greek theatre, (which, by the way, was the first society to incorporate music into theatre productions) a chorus of singing people would narrate everything, so I guess what would be a better way than have sassy black women being a part of that chorus?

If it were anything like real greece and greek mythology, Zeus would have had sex with everything by now

Well yeah, it's not even close, but it's set in Ancient Greece. Gospel music is a black american music that stemmed from African tradition. I just can't figure out why it was the music style of choice, there's zero connection.

Maybe I'm just overanalyzing, but its seriously always bothered me.

I think it just fits the movie and the style they were going for. I know it doesn't make sense but I like it though that is just my opinion.

Well, can't argue with that. It's just always been that mental itch of mine every time I see it.
