youve got to get their pattern down, if they are in one place and you go in one direction they will go to one other certain place, then youve just got to know where that is, ive done this many times

There is no constant pattern, it's essentially random. The useful tools in catching roaming Pokemon are Quick Balls, Mean Look, and False Swipe

no, theres a pattern, its simply from the place they are, if its in route 13, and im in littleroot town, if i go north it will always go to the same place next

Maybe in Gen III there was, but try using that tactic on Entei in HG/SS, you could be in Olivine, and it in route 39, you could go north, and it will jump to route 30.

depends, theres always a pattern, in those games you can get an app for your poketool that tracks them. and you can just walk in and out of a route until it comes there

That's not a pattern, that's luck. While they're more likely to move to a nearby route in comparison to where they are, there is always a chance that they'll just head to the other side of the region when you change locations.
