Society is wrong.

The productivity of a single worker is the highest it's ever been in human history, and yet in places like America even though in the last few decades inflation has driven up prices by multitudes worker pay has seen stagnated growth. The value of the dollar is a growing joke and deficits are destroying everything.

From the very start we are made to sleep during unnatural hours. Teenagers biological clocks are set for late nights and early mornings but school already sets this in stone. Once you become a worker it grows even more extreme. Society dictates everyone work like dogs and be so busy they lose sleep. Sleep deprivation is also the highest its ever been in history. Whether or not this is in correlation with our current civilization or simple population increases doesn't matter since the truth remains the same.

This aside, human beings are mammals. Mammals in particular require large amounts of sleep. Being warm blooded has the advantage not dying from temperature shifts but requires extremely high metabolisms in comparison to reptiles. While something like a crocodile can survive weeks without eating a human being would be driven to death in the same period.

After that comes two things: 1. We are meant to sleep when the sun goes down and wake up when the sun comes up. But Civilization built a 12 hour cycle and we operate around that rather than logic. 2. Did you know human beings are actually thought to be slightly more designed to sleep twice a day rather than once? I forgot the word for it, bisomething but apparently we we're meant to sleep twice rather than once.

So basically, out of all of the things humanity ****** up getting the right amount of sleep is one of them.

Maybe not wanting to get out of bed or common insomnia problems seem normal parts of everyday life, but everything we encounter is a part of the greater truth.

I don't like getting up because my room is too cold in the morning, but too warm at night to put pajamas/sleeping clothes on.

Sleeping is such a luxury. infinitereaper is right.
My job requires me to stand 12 hour shifts over a period up to three days. Now this could also rotate from days to night every other week or month. So, its not a rare thing for me to be up for at least 24 hours trying to get into a 'sleep schedule'
Freaking Society.
Then, when you want to sleep in, say past noon, its frowned upon.
When our bodies are trying to tell us something, we should listen.

Everyone here seems to get proper sleep. I've been awake for more than 15 hours.

Only 15 hours? The recommended sleeping time is 8 hours and there's 24 hours in a day, 24-8 is 16, so that's 16 hours in a day that's recommended to be awake.

The sheets and comforter have finally accepted me as one of their own, I fear that if i try to leave they will notice and turn on me. I'll have to stay for a few more hours at least.
