The first thing that happens in a group of people opening MRE's is "Oh... well i'll trade you X for Y."

I can vouch for 1/2 of the validity of this post. Nobody has ever asked me for a blowjob, so i will just suffice it to say i'm not pretty enough, or they really like their goddamn skittles.

So you're a girl that has been in the military??

I'm considering going into it and I wanna know what's it like as a woman? I'm sure you have to work 10x harder to be seen as equal to a guy but is there any sexual harassment? That's what I'm worried about the most...

oh my, sorry mdear, i am a male who has not been in the military but did a lot of ROTC camps which include MRE's, and I was making a joke that honestly made more sense to me when i was tired.

There are places you can go to ask those questions though. I have two female friends who went off to serve, one in airforce, one in army. Airforce girl mentioned one issue, but evidently it was witnessed and the guy got a dishonorable discharge. My Army friend is too damn strong to threaten in the first place, but she's the one who would openly grope my sister and her friends in front of the ROTC building just to show that "we're all friends here!"

In the end it depends on who you wind up deployed with, and how you deal with it. In my mind, i'd like to think that all servicemen and women join with a commitment to duty and honor, and are beyond depraved acts of harassment, but i know that's not the case, as many people join up because they're young, angry and stupid.

All in all m'dear, i'd say go for whatever you think you want to do. Any doubts are things that can be dealt with when you get there. I'd say its most important to not just submit to fears, or harassment. A lot of people tend not to talk about when they're being harassed, but if some person in military service does it? Report their ass! They don't have any place in the service!
