Apparently, one sport can't be tough unless the other ones aren't tough at all. Yes, rugby is tough. Football is also tough. Just because you posted a picture of an injured rugby player and an uninjured football player doesn't mean anything.

There was a cooking show that was on a few years ago where one of the hosts dropped a knife and it stuck into his calf on live TV. Instead of screaming and stopping the broadcast, he ignored it and kept cooking until they went to commercial before getting stitches. That's like taking a picture of that cook, putting it next to an uninjured rugby player, and saying cooks are tougher than rugby players.

Football: Hitting more important. So lots of gear to protect for hitting and getting hit.
Rugby: Running more important. So minimal gear for maximized running potential. Thus why when they do get hit really hard, they get their **** rocked.

I play rugby, but this post is dumb. Thumb me down; I don't give a **** . But I've known great athletes that play rugby and football. They're just different sports. Pic 100% related.

At first I thought it was one photo, and the guy on the top was dripping blood on the other guy's head.

Disc of vulcanized rubber flies straight into your nose at 85mph. Off the ice for 5 minutes then back in the game, tough enough?

Sorry, But not protecting yourself in a sport like that isn't tough. It's just really ******* stupid.
User avatar #45 - ThpiderMan (05/05/2013) [-]
Both sports are incredibly physical and the only reason they HAVE to wear pads in football is because they reset the line constantly, more a battle of attrition, lining up and crashing into eachother with the impact of a goddamned car accident using their head and necks like ******* battering rams.

What sport is better? That's personal opinion, but acting like football isn't "tough" makes you look like a internet tough guy yelling "OI CHEEKY CUNT I'L DEC YA M8 SWARE ON ME MUM!."

Personal experience from playing both is that rugby hurts a lot more. Less padding and brutal tackling. However either way, each sport your gonna get ****** .

There's a saying in my land.

Soccer is the gentlemans sport played by hooligans
Rugby is the hooligans sport played by gentleman
Football is a cunts sport, played by cunts.
