22 here, and very lucky i have such awesome parents.

the only pc i had was a 13.1 inch sony vaio that i used for my gaming and work.
one day i asked my father to buy me a razer naga and a razer mouse pad cuz i wanted ones for GW2, when he came back (with the rest of the family) they surprized me with an Alienware M17x R4 (with GTX 675m), i was so happy.

#432 - anonymous (05/05/2013) [-]
consoles are good for playing with a few bros who don't really take gaming too seriously.

you know, real life friends? maybe you don't

that being said, I have both, they are each good for different things

Haven't been here in a while, needless to say FunnyJunk is still **** .
User avatar #445 to #427 - Katzie (05/05/2013) [-]
Funnyjunk goes through a cycle of cancerosity, and it's at its absolute low at the moment. Things reposted straight from facebook with no amusing content at all get thumbed up, almost everything posted is a repost yet people feel justified pointing out it is a repost so people will thumb them up, and the pastime lately has apparently been mirroring tumblr.
The part where the cycle starts going up is when people suddenly look at what they're typing and go "What the **** am I posting", they pick another website like 9gag and start laying into them about everything wrong about the site, and trying to do everything in a more satirical way.
I hope FJ remembers that this isn't Facebook soon though.

I feel here and now is the best time to ask...

Best Gaming PC?

My English is not too good :/
User avatar #449 to #421 - cedrock (05/05/2013) [-]
The best are the custom built ones. Don't waste your money on alienwares. You could do a better pc then alienware for about 1500$, and if you're looking for a budget built, you can actually get one for about 500$ that runs most games on medium - high.
#479 to #449 - pimpsandwich (05/05/2013) [-]
Listen to this man. Alienware is a scam, almost. Build it yourself.
#451 to #449 - uselesscommentman (05/05/2013) [-]
is there any sort of tutorial for shoping for custom builds?
User avatar #455 to #451 - cedrock (05/05/2013) [-]
There's a ton on youtube. I'll give you a few links (just search this phrases in youtube and you'll find the videos).

- www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFJ-sGb54ck Budget PC.
- www.youtube.com/watch?v=53r0OKQXbvc A more expensive root.
- www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw Newegg's tutorial on how to build a PC (There are 3 parts to this tutorial, so press the annotations at the end of each video.)

Good luck.
User avatar #457 to #456 - cedrock (05/05/2013) [-]
If you encounter difficulties, just ask your local pc store, or write a thread on a forum like anon stated. Forums can help a ton, I use "Tomshardware" when I have issues.
#454 to #451 - anonymous (05/05/2013) [-]
There's plenty of forums and things around for asking about part compatibility. It's one of those things thats really worth getting to know because in the long run it'll save you hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
#444 to #421 - jammuandkashmir (05/05/2013) [-]
alienware
#447 to #444 - anonymous (05/05/2013) [-]
Alienware is the Mac of gaming PCs.

You pay for the brand and flashy lights. You're far better off either building your own or getting a custom rig buil and shipped for a fraction of the price.
User avatar #438 to #421 - joshlol (05/05/2013) [-]
Your English is okay but your question is silly.

User avatar #443 to #441 - joshlol (05/05/2013) [-]

#448 to #443 - uselesscommentman (05/05/2013) [-]

how do i tell?
User avatar #458 to #448 - joshlol (05/05/2013) [-]
If you want to build your own PC you will save money, there are plenty of video guides to help you if need be. Use this site for components.

laptops arent always casual. i rock a laptop for arma 2/3, but its only because i travel for work. Does me just fine. I would definitely have a desktop though, if i didnt travel.
User avatar #379 - PubLandlord (05/05/2013) [-]
Consoles just make more sense, you can have a couple of controllers and play with friends, and also don't need to be sitting up at a desk you can chill out on the sofa and play.

More sociable and more casual and relaxing

I've seriously had it with Razer products they always break, but the only thing that stayed with me and i am using it right now is the Blackwidow ultimate mechanical Keyboard.

I soooo want to switch to logitech, my logitech mouse is 13 years old and it is still working, but my Naga mouse is 1 and a half years old and it is dead.
User avatar #411 to #374 - gustaviaable (05/05/2013) [-]
Then you are not carefull. I have multiple Razer products that work just fine
User avatar #450 to #411 - SuitUp ONLINE (05/05/2013) [-]
I've had plenty of Razer products that've been faulty either by design or manufacture. For example:
The Mamba has no lubricant and a stupid positioning for it's wheel-click button which means that after a couple of weeks it starts screeching like a bitch. Even when I opened it up and lubed it properly it only lasts another few weeks.
I had my Lycosa replaced 3 times and each time the media panel hadn't been properly wired up and started ******* up. Opened up the last one the sent me and their idea of soldering is a ******* disgrace.

I changed to Roccat and havn't had a single problem with any of their stuff yet.
User avatar #416 to #411 - pulluspardus ONLINE (05/05/2013) [-]
I'm actually very careful with my stuff, I never had something break because I was not careful.
#406 to #374 - kruzz (05/05/2013) [-]
My Razer deathadder has gone through 3 years of ******** gaming, working flawless, looks the same, perfect. Might be a lil' overpriced, but it feels soooo mutch better than a logitech.

Welcome to electronics.
User avatar #405 to #397 - pulluspardus ONLINE (05/05/2013) [-]
Eh, I've been trying out different brands just so I can evaluate them, heard about people raving about Razer, tried them, okay at first then they died.
User avatar #407 to #405 - departed (05/05/2013) [-]
I'm a bit bias here as I'm currently using Razer and I haven't tried much else. But my Razer setup has lasted me like a year and a half so far so I'm happy.
