Who told you the "fact" about iron man? In the Iron Comics, Jarvis was a human and Tony Starks version of Batmans Alfred. Only in the Hollywood movies it's a computer.

but the name doesn't origin in the movie. It's frome the comic. Therefore Jarvis just means Jarvis.
