User avatar #7 to #4 - Ryukenblaze ONLINE (05/03/2013) [-]
Actually, a University and a College are two different things. A univerity is made up of many colleges, where as a college may, or may not have many schools

no they were getting smaller. most colleges have the lecture desks all locked together with a small pullout "desk".

Well, maybe we should stop letting paper get bigger and bigger.

Thanks for going out of your way pretty much solely to tell us you drank and smoked in high school.
What did that accomplish exactly?

Elementary school, one book, one sheet of paper - good for a week.
Middle school, 3 books, couple sheets of paper.
High school, 4 books, few sheets of paper.
College, 14 books for 4 classes, Math class alone takes 3 sheets of paper per ******* problem, and brings 4 books with it that you somehow have to read along with, AND take notes on those 1/5th desks.

Makes perfect sense.

In Canadian high schools the desks are huge, not like the ones connected to the chairs, and the desks as side by side.
User avatar #57 - huginho (05/03/2013) [-]

In some of the newer rooms (particularly some of the engineering ones) where I'm about to go, they've decided to go with continuous long tables built into the floor so that all the empty space between desks that COULD be used by desks IS used by desks, which is great.

What I've understood the least has always been when they have those dumb foldy-desk auditorium seats, but don't even have the foldy-desk cover half the width of the seat, much less the whole thing. I mean that's the ENTIRE point of a foldy-desk: to better use the space for multiple purposes... why the HELL would you not have it take up pretty much the whole width of the seat?
