It's completely the customers fault. you had 28 days, 28 god damn days... that's plenty of time to do something.

I think the best explanation I can offer is that the letter is dated the 12 of april-
He was likely not INFORMED the train was cancelled directly.
The train was cancelled far in advance, and a notice was put on their website-
But not emailed out
Happens from time to time.
It's a dick move.

I agree with both of you, but lets face it, they cant keep track of every single ticket buyer and need to have a system where they know their expenses pretty well (therefore 30 days) They probably couldnt refund him because they didnt know he'd bought a ticket.

If a lot of people waited a couple of months with turning in their tickets it could mess with their budget and give them a lot of extra work.

Yes of course someone should be refunded, but 28 days seems quite reasonable

Obviously they have a protocol for this kind of **** which involves the customer having to get the refund in 28 days. What the **** was he doing for 28 days? Was he in a god damn comma? There's no reason he didn't try to get a refund sooner...

In the letter it says 'thank you for your letter dated 12th of April' and goes on to say that the actual train ride was cancelled in January, implying that he was either unaware of the cancellation or unaware he only had 28 days to file a complaint and that sending the letter was a moot point because it was sent to him 3 months after he could have done anything in the first place.

Because the censored letter isn't from Greater Anglia. The rolled up letter is the one mentioned in the censored letter. Did you even read this?
