As an American, I feel the Canadian healthcare system would be better for someone like be, given the fact I'm a diabetic. Insulin and supplies for my insulin pump are expensive, I've never had surgery, and I rarely need to go to the hospital.

However, for someone who needs frequent surgeries or hospital stays, while the American healthcare system IS more expensive, it's much more efficient, given the fact hospitals are treated like a business rather than a service. You might wait a day or two for surgery instead of weeks or months. Plenty of Canadians head south for their surgeries for that very reason.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Almost no one points out the flaws in the Canadian healthcare.
