Strangely relevant - me and my friend used to play that '2 for flinching game' all day long. He kept punching me in the arm for like an hour even though I wasn't paying it any mind.

After about 45 minutes I punched him in the face. Felt horrible about it, because I spaced out and thought he was someone else throwing a punch. :P

the best thing, is that you can keep punching and punching and punching and punching and punching and punching and punching and punching untill your thumb is as sore as his face. my god how that detail made you cringe in a good way.

Yeah, I'm sure everyone did that on their first playthrough. It's to show Kratos' hatred toward Zeus and how he could probably go on destroying him forever.

Taxes are simply legalized theft.
User avatar #83 to #3 - theshadowed (04/26/2013) [-]
I like the idea of knowing that when I get injured, I will be treated free of charge.
I like the idea of knowing that when I want to drive somewhere, I can do it on safe roads.
I like the idea of knowing that when my (if I have them) children go to school, they don't have to pay.
I like the idea of knowing that if I am in danger, I have a service to call.
Taxes pay for everything you take for granted.
User avatar #86 to #83 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
First, someone's paying for that. If it's not you and now, you're gonna pay for it later through taxes, your kids will pay for it through debt, or everyone's gonna pay for it now through inflation. Nothing's free.

People can get together and do things and make decisions without government. It's a logical fallacy to say "without government it won't get done."
User avatar #87 to #86 - theshadowed (04/26/2013) [-]
Of course we need government. Without government, we will have no order. Chop the had of anything, and it dies.
User avatar #68 to #66 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
Everything the government does is illegal. Very ironic.
#30 to #3 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
We'll also ignore the fact that before 1913 we didn't have an income tax and we were just fine. The ****** Supreme Court even ruled the income tax as unconstitutional which is why we it had to be amended to the Constitution. Coincidentally it was the same year the federal reserve was created. Definitely wasn't created to massively expand the government though...
#29 to #3 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
How are taxes not theft? You wouldn't let an individual take a third of your money without your permission. Why is it okay for the government? Because of a "social contract?" Lol I didn't sign **** !
User avatar #22 to #3 - mrgoodlove (04/26/2013) [-]

User avatar #7 to #5 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
That's a good counter-point you've brought up. Please tell me more about your well thought out philosophy and morality.
User avatar #10 to #7 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/26/2013) [-]
Well for one it isn't legalized theft, your taxes pay for services such as teachers, schools firefighters, police, ambulance services, they subsidize food production dropping food prices, healthcare =which actually does nothing, the prices are still stupid-, animal control, all major forms of media -Yes the government partially owns your news- . also upkeep on utilities so if you're on the computer thank taxes you have power at your home, infrastructure, guess why your roads arent dirt and cow poo, and on top of that, Financial aid for higher learning
#71 to #10 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
Well maybe they aren't stealing but they're damn sure spending not even a tenth of all the taxes they get on the things you just mentioned.
User avatar #61 to #10 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
Theft is no less a theft because your thief in exchange gives you something you didn't agree to. Can I mug you on the street, toss you a lollipop, and claim I didn't steal from you?
User avatar #70 to #61 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
I love how you try and debate with people, and they leave a red thumb with absolutely no retort. I guess that's an admission of being wrong.
#56 to #10 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
In denmark, the taxes are high as **** , and that is great, cause i like all the things you just listed. Especially our free healthcare, and me getting into a special class without noise and maximize my learning for free. It's a pretty great system
User avatar #63 to #56 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
But you can't justly force taxation onto others simply because you approve of it. Don't forget that everything you endorse government doing, it does to the entire city/county/state/country. If you want those things, then in a tax-free system you'd be free to pay into a pool along with everyone else who felt the same. But it's immoral to tax (steal) from others just because you don't mind.
User avatar #88 to #63 - taxation (04/26/2013) [-]
Jesus dude, stop talking about me. You always get thumbed down anyways.
User avatar #75 to #63 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/26/2013) [-]
then in the same manner, its immoral to use public roads, public utilities, and public services if you specifically evade taxes. Not everything is taxed, but unless you live under a rock in an unincorporated area hunting and gathering to survive and not making a single dime, you're going to pay taxes one way or another.
User avatar #79 to #75 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
It's the government and those in support of it claiming that these public works are for everyone and for the greater good, not me. If a woman's being raped, should she not call the cops to help her, even though they're already available?

But anyway, I don't see how you can suddenly apply morality in an immoral situation. People's money is being stolen through legalized theft called "taxes", but you want to shine the moral spotlight on the person/people being robbed?
User avatar #81 to #79 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/26/2013) [-]
Because without taxes there would be no cops available, I don't think you understand what anarchy actually means.
User avatar #85 to #81 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
Anarchy means without rulers. How can you claim to fight immorality ( ****** , kidnapping, robbery) by installing a system which does those exact same things, only calling it warfare, arrest, and taxes?
User avatar #92 to #85 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/28/2013) [-]
Simple fact is, I have a military behind me due to my taxes, good luck kim jong un, I don't get arrested because i'm not stupid enough to infringe upon other peoples rights, I pay taxes because I work for a living. quit bitching about how UNFAIR taxes are until you've lived in a place where taxes don't exist. where youre either a living corpse or a true slave
User avatar #93 to #92 - douthit (04/28/2013) [-]
No, you pay taxes because you're required to or you'll be locked in a cage. If the mandates were removed, it would be interesting to see how many people actually paid taxes willingly. I think it would be hilariously few. If you want to give money to a group of people calling themselves "government", then in a free market you would still be able to do so. But in the system we have now, any one person can't justly force or coerce another person into a contract unwillingly--which is what we do through government. I mean hell, we've enrolled future generations into contracts against their will, through the $16.8T in taxes they'll have to one day pay. Totally immoral.
User avatar #94 to #93 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/29/2013) [-]
Free markets Don't work without government interaction, thats called corporatism and that is what China has in their so called "communist" society,
User avatar #95 to #94 - douthit (04/29/2013) [-]
Free market capitalism and corporatism are not the same thing. Free markets operate without government interference, hence the "free" part.
User avatar #96 to #95 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/29/2013) [-]
You don't seem to understand the difference between a government regulated corporation and a corporation run government. There is no -free- markets in the world. the closest thing you'll find is a small open air market where you can buy child sex slaves next to whole sale fake Us currency
User avatar #97 to #96 - douthit (04/29/2013) [-]
There's no place in the world without crime, but we still strive for it. That something doesn't exist here and now is no argument as to its goodness, morality, or desirability.
User avatar #76 to #75 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/26/2013) [-]
Otherwise you're just mooching off of everyone elses hard work
User avatar #26 to #10 - sagedivinity (04/26/2013) [-]
That is some of what taxes go into but you did not support your argument. Just because they money is used in possible beneficial ways doesn't mean it wasn't stolen. That would be like me robbing a bank and giving all of the money to charities and calling it legal.
#20 to #10 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
Ya got a lot to learn, kid.
User avatar #23 to #20 - WHATTHEPISSTRAINE (04/26/2013) [-]
Well no, I don't simply put most of our tax dollars be it sales income or property/luxury (depending on state) are what keeps this nation and all first world nations from collapse, This has nothing to do with the brain dead morons dividing the bills from subsidy to subsidy or pay check to pay check, keep lowering taxes, the idiotic accounting errors and pay raises to the idiots in charge only go up.
User avatar #15 to #10 - nsali (04/26/2013) [-]
i thumbed you up cuz you are right, forgot that exuberant salary that senators, representatives, governors, etc etc and them fools make WAY too much money for what they do

no im not saying that shouldnt get a pay check, but when most folks are bustin ass(at least the one with a job) for min wage on up to average 20 an hour and these guys are getting the same in a year that it would take me 7 or 8 year to get ...then there is a problem
User avatar #64 to #15 - douthit (04/26/2013) [-]
Well since I'm an anarcho-capitalist, I agree elected officials are paid too much.
User avatar #14 to #10 - adrilazzaro (04/26/2013) [-]
not to mention about half of my taxes go to a war which doesn't benefit or defend me in any way, nor does it benefit people living in US, not for the majority atleast.
User avatar #16 to #14 - bothemastaofall (04/26/2013) [-]
Or my favorite: legalized highway robbery, aka speed traps.
"It's about public safety"
Then why did you arrest a woman for holding a sign right in front of your speed trap telling people to slow down?
"We didn't need all of our cops patroling to be ready to stop violent crime"
Then retire some of your police force. It's not a hard concept; If you don't need that many cops, don't have that many cops.
