Zombies aren't real, grow the **** up. It is scientifically impossible to reanimate the dead. Just a few minutes without oxygen does severe, irreversible damage to the brain. Only 5 year olds with over active imaginations believe in zombies. It's childish and ******** .

Everyone must like you.

Anyways, I think zombies are real, they just haven't risen form their graves yet. I dunno. But anyways, there is this bug/ parasite that turns prey into zombies. Once it got a cockroach and the cockroach died and then minutes later, the cockroach started twitching, sat up and started walking around. If that were to affect us (probably not because we're too big) we'd probably become zombies

That's not a zombie than.

Zombie - the body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.

That's a mind controlling parasite. Not a zombie.

Im just saying, the zombies from the walking dead actually make some amount of biological sense, and if some ass hole managed to make a virus that behaved like that, we'd all be ****** .
#114 to #47 - anonymous (04/25/2013) [-]
It'll be a mental disease than, not a zombie.
#39 to #9 - anonymous (04/25/2013) [-]
Or take the Zombieland approach. Simply a mutation of the mad cow disease that causes extreme aggression, insatiable hunger, and lulls the brain's activity. Viruses mutate all the time, in theory this would be possible.

It's a kind of mental disease than caused by a virus. Not a true zombie.

Sure ******* the hottest girl in school isn't going to happen but that sure as hell isn't going to stop me from hoping it does everyday.

Not true. Artificial stimulation of the brain stem is theoretically possible by either the means of a virus or a nano machine. Advances in the adaptation and purposing of these modifiers is where a great deal of medical funding is going.

The effects would be identical. There would be generalized movement in sluggish form as well as an insatiable hunger due to the unrestrained basic functions. It is reanimation and cannibalism. Just because it is no longer supernatural does not qualify to dismiss as "not a zombie". This is what we got and what is very possible as a contingency so not having a "zombie apocalypse" because it isn't possible is a flat out lie. This is possible, it can happen, and you should at least be aware of that possibility.
#118 to #117 - anonymous (04/25/2013) [-]
It's still not a zombie. It'll be a disease. Zombies have to be super natural, that's what a zombie is.

Zombie - the body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.
User avatar #119 to #118 - neiharakon (04/25/2013) [-]
Ineffective definition is ineffective. If it eats brains and shambles about after it's already dead I'm sure we're all gonna take a moment to make a new name for it since it can't be a zombie.
#120 to #119 - anonymous (04/26/2013) [-]
Probably. I've heard some mutations of rabbis before as possibilities, in which case they'd say mutated Rabbis. Not zombies.

It makes me very sad that this is the first person I have agreed with on the subject. And everyone hated it. People need to find a new hope to change their boring life, maybe one that requires they get off their fat ass and do something.

He has a point you know. It is scientifically impossible for zombies to exist, and even if they did, they would decompose so quickly in most areas.

People said the same thing to da Vinci when he proposed a flying machine. We now take flight for granted.

So suck a dick, ****** .

There is a Fungus that kills ants then takes over the ants brain. Then the Fungus has total control over the ant. It's that is basically a zombie ant. If that fungus was to ever effect humans humans would then basically be zombies. Maybe not the flesh eating kind from games and movies but still a zombie.

That's not a zombie than. You described more of a mental disease or parasite like you said.

Zombie - the body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.
User avatar #16 to #15 - sparkyoneonetwo (04/24/2013) [-]
Well if that's not a zombie 99% of all zombies aren't zombies. Most zombie come about by the same process. Something kills it then it brings it brain back to life. Almost every zombie is some kinda parasite or disease.
#18 to #16 - anonymous (04/25/2013) [-]
No what you described was mind control, not reanimating dead tissue.

The fungus kills the ant it's totally dead then some time latter it gets back up and move.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you want "affect". "Effect" is a noun, while "affect" is a verb. You can easily remember this by "affect" and "action" starting with the same letter.
Completely agree with the rest of what you're saying, by the way.

Well that is good to know. I will most likely not remember that as I have been struggling with spelling and grammar my whole life it is very hard for me for some reason.
