It means that a neural pathway wasn't signaling enough because the mouse had autism, but that same neural pathway gets stimulated and starts signaling more because of weed.

Just imagine if you were high all the time, and couldn't process things quite right, and were fully aware of this, and that getting high actually made things easier to understand and less out-of-it.

Yes, actually, yes. It doesn't cure it, but it helps a lot, at least in mice.
