This is the most common world map I've ever seen, I don't know what everyone else is talking about.

Only terrorists live in caves. Are you a terrorist? Are you hiding from America?

I'd say the equator is more in the centre. Anything along that midline would be considered the middle of the page.

It's to help people understand GMT better, with Greenwich being in London, London's in the middle of the world map

UK's in the middle. If you know your history, you know why

they decided, "Hey, let's run the Prime Meridian straight through London!" and then the 180 meridian just happened to neatly dodge all major landmasses. Thus, England ended up in the middle.

It is international date line. Sorry my OCD would have killed me if I hadn't done that.

The date line generally follows the 180 meridian, but that is mostly a coincidence because that happens to be the best place on the globe to put it, straight down the middle of the Pacific. It also is bent out of shape to follow national borders, so it does not exactly follow the meridian.

True but the most common name for it is the international date line

The Prime Meridian goes though London because of an observatory there?
