Blacksouts do fuck all. If you want to actually do something, figure out who the lobbyists work for, then boycott the companies. You couldn't take something like Viacom down, but specific, smaller companies can be severely damaged by a boycott.

actually, if i recall, halfway through the blackout last year a majority of the supportive group were prepared to change their vote on SOPA after outcry from the public writing to the congress.

Yes, but mostly due to fear of financial repercussions, that usually follow a public outcry. However, if we just go and blackout every time something happens we don't like, it devalues the acts every single time. Proper, educated boycotts work; blackouts normally due by blind luck.

fair enough, either way I think we can agree that the first thing that needs to be done is educate the public, I have a feeling not a lot of people are aware of CISPA outside the general internet community, a similar problem SOPA had.
