Germany still got 187.898 for a pure defensive army...wait no if America invades someone we have to follow or pay.

"By war's end, over 1 million citizens would serve in military uniform, and Canada would possess the fourth-largest air force and third-largest naval surface fleet in the world."

"By the end of the War, Canada had the world's fourth largest air force,[8] and third largest navy."

They were neutral, they were just attacked, idiot. Hitler declared war on only a few countries, maybe just one (US), other countries he just invaded, so technically, anyone who didn't declare war on Nazi-Germany before being attacked themselves was neutral.

"neutral" means they would have just let them pass through
the germans didn't just pass through, they took control of this fine country
it doesn't matter if they officially declared war or not, there were battles for control

thank you, come again

The comic refers to global issues, and in this world-wide economy of ours, we're all connected. But America is losing her place in the world.

The comic is referencing specifically European issues, because you'll notice 1. Japan is not in WWII. 2. China is not in the last panel (and if it was truly referring to global issues/world economy, China would ******* be there).

It only involves wars that were in that geographical region. America was there for World War 2 fighting, and now isn't because we are no longer involved there

The last slide is referring to the present day prosperity of Switzerland in relation to all of it's neighboring nations which is supposedly, and may be, a result of it's lack of involvement in wars of the region. The absence of America wasn't meant as any deep meaning of them losing power, rather they simply aren't anywhere near Switzerland. You don't see Japan or Canada in the final slide either.
