This has gone on for too long, I can't stay silent anymore.

Please, all the users of funnyjunk, nay, all users of the internet, all people of the world! Hear me now, and know that what I say is the truth. That that isn't how all vegetarians/vegans are, I hope that it is only a troll, but you or I may never know.

In every belief system, whether it is a cult, religion, organisation or opinion, there are and will be extremists. They often make up the minority of the entire group, however they are most often the loudest.

I truly feel ashamed by any extremists in any opinion I stand behind. For they do things to the extreme and as a result muddle the entire image of the belief system.

Not all vegetarians/vegans are hateful. We really aren't.

I agree. I'm a vegetarian and even then I've gotten hate from extreme vegans because "that's not enough".

A salad tastes better by replacing it with a steak before serving.

All jokes aside, I very well know that. Most of us here know that. Personally, I don't mind anyones religion, nationality, carnivore or herbivore (omnivore myself), I just don't care. Each their own. You seem like a cool guy. Keep it up.

Thanks man/woman, I think that you're pretty cool too. And I appreciate it greatly that you think of me so.

I know you and many other people on the internet may know the difference between the net and real life, however, you would be a little surprised as to how many times other people have just randomly started arguments regarding me being vegetarian. I can see from their point of view as well of course, because even till only several years ago, I ate meat.

Not trying to start a ********* going but I think why most pissed off vegans or vegetarians on the internet are pissed off because they keep getting challenged without their will to argue about an issue that is very important to them.(not to mention sarcasm is difficult to detect online, so some sentence or picture might seem more provoking than is actually intended, which in turn starts off ********** )

But yes, as you said, I like going by each to their own, I don't like to tutor any body, or tell anyone they are wrong, only if someone is willing to be influenced, will I show them what I think of a certain matter.

Aw, if I could I'd give you a little pat on the back. I've known a couple very friendly and non-judgemental vegans in my time. Much as I like a good slice of pep-and-mush, I'm okay with those who don't.
Unfortunately comedy mostly works with exaggeration, hence the stereotypes on the site of ignorant christians, asshole atheists, oppressive feminists, and raging vegans - even if these only represent a tiny portion of these actual groups.

In lieu of an appropriate pic, have some llamas.

I very well understand that comedy exaggerates most of the time to make something more funny, but if there is one thing that I have noticed since becoming a vegetarian, is that many people don't really know that there is a difference between real life and the internet comedy.

I can't tell you just how many times, out of the blue, people have started debates or arguments with me because they know I'm a vegetarian. I don't openly try and shove anything down anyone's throat, only if they ask me personally will I show them my personal opinion in full.

I do wish some people would just accept that some people are different than them and get on living with life.

People being tolerant of others and minding their own damn business?
Amen man, that is the kind of world I would like to live in.
#104 to #98 - tozence (04/22/2013) [-]
Yeah... I would like that too. But I would of course also want people to be able to engage in an argument or debate. I don't want to strip any body of any freedom. I just wish people were less aggressive about their points of view and were at least a little more open minded.

I think everyone hates vegans, christians, and the etc. because they state that they are such things when what I've noticed is the ones that are good about it stay silent. They don't go around telling the world about it because they just keep to themselves until the subject is brought up. I think that's about how it should be too. Just everyone keep to their damn selves and we all just live our personal life how we want :/

I can agree with you fully on the part that people just stick to their own selves. But, then again, you can't really blame them. People are naturally curious, and anything that directly goes against something they have been told to believe their entire life, can be conflicting.

Although I do really wish people were more open minded, not that I try to shove my opinions down anyone's throat, just that they don't act so aggressive some of the times.
