Yes someone I know genuinely thought World War 2 ended in 1985 and because she said it was 'her opinion' (even though opinions are meant to be subjective and when the war ended is not ******* subjective) that she couldn't be wrong.

Maybe she had seen an episode of QI, where Stephen Fry says that world war 2 ended when the Berlin Wall fell, and Germany was one country again.

A girl in one of my high school classes thought Asia was a country and then went so far as to tell the principal we violated her freedom of expression and religious beliefs by telling her she was wrong.

I couldn't even, that day.

Although it could be taken as an opinion if you mentioned the numerous islands in the pacific that were garrisoned with Japanese troops even into the 70's.

You should've just calmly said "And I respect your opinion....EVEN IF YOU'RE ******* WRONG"

Related, MFW girl said "Umm, Bulgaria" to the question "What's the capital of Germany?"

I didn't need to because she shouted out in the middle of class so my history teacher corrected her idiotic ways, and because of people like that I think we should all have to take a test and if you fail that test you shouldn't be allowed to go outside and spread your idiocy.
