This is nice, I admit, but it doesn't justify what they did. Violating rights to catch one man isn't forgivable through one act of kindness. I'm sure police states around the world have these sort of stories. We just choose to ignore them because the actions of one man won't define the country.
A hair in your soup doesn't ruin the soup, and putting salt on a turd won't make it a meal.

"When a guy with a gun is running around"

Isn't people with guns pretty widespread in America?
Isn't the defensive line of any gun-owner "We have to be able to protect ourselves", but as soon as some guy with a gun who killed some people is running around, everyone has to hide in their houses?

Well then I suppose at the end of the race of being chased, he's going to blow up.

That was perfectly reasonable, entering people's homes without the homeowners permission however, is not. Pointing an assault rifle in an innocent persons face and demanding to be let into their house is extremely unjustified.

Well if they were entering people's homes while they weren't home, I'd say given the circumstances it was necessary, he might have been hiding out in a house and threaten/kill the family when they came home. However yea the second part no, pointing a gun into a families face is horrible.
