My favorite cat that I've ever had actually used to not eat when I left. He almost died when I left to Florida. I came home and took care of him and he never left my side, always cuddling with me and trying to get my attention. He used to go outside a lot and the whole neighborhood loved him... Except ONE of my neighbors... He was the most amazing pet I've ever had and he was more than just a cat to me... One day he got out and never came back... I miss him so much. No matter what I was going through, I always had him by my side to comfort me. All I want is to at least know what happened to him. It's mostly the mystery that kills me, because someone could have taken him or he could have gotten hit by a car or abused by neighborhood hoodlums. It has haunted me every single day since that day in November last year.

I know your feel, bro.

I had a cat that was with us for years, I helped her mother give birth to her and I helped her when she had two litters of her own. She was an outside cat, so she wandered from time to time, but she always came back. But, sometime around December last year she left again and I haven't seen her since.

The mystery really sucks. We have neighbors who have these two German Shepards that they don't keep on leashes that have gotten our animals before, but Baby was really tough. She could have been picked up by somebody and kept, she would never keep her collars on and did have the look of a stray, but I'm never going to know for sure.

Oops, sorry for the long-ass story.

when it's the cat's time to die, some choose to leave their homes

He was very healthy and only a year old. I don't think it was quite his time, but I guess it's possible.

I had two other cats at the time and there was a place in my house where they could get out (it's fixed now) and they got outside a lot. I think the one neighbor that is a total dick about everything may have lured them to her house and had them taken away by animal control/the humane society. It's very possible that they may have just got picked up just for being outside, because one was wearing a collar with an old number, another had lost it's collar because it took it off and the other (my favorite) could take it's collar off after fiddling with it for a bit. They may have got picked up because just two blocks over, there is a huge cat problem... Or just taken by the neighbors who liked them and kept inside their houses. I've called every humane society/shelter in the area several times and went to several people's homes asking if they've seen him or either of the other two and nobody has.

oh noo :( so sad, one of my cats went to die on her sandbox :( it was so sad, as if she felt like she wasn't worth it anymore, and covered herself in her own dirt :(
