Isn't it necessary for a sentence to have a Subject and a Verb?

That's officially considered as correct?
My english teacher almost slapped the **** out of me when i didnt do it obvious with the subject and the verb.

I think it's hilarious because English teachers in elementary and middle school are almost completely contradicted by English teachers of higher levels.
"NO SENTANCE FRAGMENTS!!!"
"Well, this author uses fragments to create a sense of abrupt and sudden realization." (Or something like that.) But, I guess it's hard to explain that to a 10 year old, so it's easier to just teach them proper english first.

The subject is an implied you.

"Go" is an imperative, which is different mood of verb than the indicative, which we use for simple statements. The imperative can only be second person, and since the subject for both second person singular and plural is just "You", then it is implied, leaving the imperative verb naked. Therefore, "Go" is the shortest possible sentence.

George Carlin was not only a comedian, he was a great thinker and shall be dearly missed. BTW, google his stand up where he talks about execution. Hilarious stuff.
#25 to #1 - John Cena (04/20/2013) [-]
he most definitely was not a great thinker

you clearly don't know him then.

You clealry dont know any great thinker. Seriously, he does not deserve to be called great. No disregard meant, sure he was fun and sometimes said smth inteesting to think about but I would not ever put him on par with thinkers who are really considered great.

Can I not praise a dead man? Of course he was not Socrates, Or Descartes, or Saint Agustin, or Locke, but that doesn't ,mean he didn't have an interesting point of view of today's life.

Love George Carlin. Except once he got into the 90s he lost it a little for me, personally. His 70s and 80s stuff makes me laugh until I cry, though. Just the randomness and genius deep-thinking that he has in all of his bits. But once the 90s came and he had had a couple heart attacks he just kinda' turned angry.

This was when he smoked a lot of pot and snorted a lot of coke. So ... yeah.
